Plan going forward

POST-CONSTRUCTION NOISE MONITORING

• Noise monitoring will be undertaken following the commissioning of the wind farmat residences where predicted noise is greater than 35dB(A) (20 houses).

• Two rounds of monitoring (lasting between 4-8 weeks) will be undertaken at ~2months and ~6 months post-commissioning.

• Monitoring data and analysis will be peer reviewed by Auditor accredited under EPAAct, and provided to Minister for Planning and Moyne Shire Council to proactivelydemonstrate compliance with noise limits.

• If noise testing shows non-compliance, ACCIONA will need to implement methodsto address non-compliance.

Plan going forward

OFF-SITE LANDSCAPING

• Landscaping will be offered to all residents within 4km of the wind farm to assist inscreening views to wind turbines where this is desired by the resident.

• Expression of Interest forms have been posted to all residents within 4km of thewind farm.

• ACCIONA is finalising selection of a landscape designer and suppliers to assist in thedelivery of off-site landscaping.

• Landscaping screening will be designed in consultation with the landowner.

• ACCIONA will promote the landscaping program throughout the construction period.

NEIGHBOURHOOD BENEFIT PROGRAM

• All landholders that reside in a dwelling, within 4kms of a constructed turbine will beprovided with an annual financial incentive. The payment is based on proximitybands.

• The financial incentives will be made via a gift card program which will beredeemable at local businesses within Mortlake, Terang and Noorat.

• This concept ensures that funds are dispersed locally and encourages residents toshop locally and support local businesses and therefore enhance the local economy.

• This program will continue for 10 years.

Common Questions

How will the project traffic impacts be mitigated?

• Average traffic will be 100-200 vehicles (trucks and cars) per day

• Construction traffic is focused onto main arterial roads, managed by VicRoads, asmuch as possible.

• All material deliveries use routes pre-approved by Moyne Shire Council,Corangamite Shire Council and VicRoads.

• Truck routes are monitored on a fortnightly basis for damage by the approved RoadQuality Auditor.

• The ACCIONA team frequently audit roads used by our contractors to ensure theright roads are being used.

• In consultation with local schools and bus companies, we have also implemented aheavy vehicle curfews on the Mortlake-Ararat Road (between Woorndoo andMortlake), the Terang-Mortlake Road (between Mortlake and Terang) and theSisters-Noorat Road (between Mortlake-Framlingham Road and Noorat).

Common Questions

What is the wind farm’s noise limit?

• The wind farm must be less then 40dB(A) at a residence or 35dB(A) where theambient (background) noise is greater than 35dB(A).

• A specific noise compliance information sheet can be downloaded on the projectwebsite for more information.

What if I believe the wind farm is too loud?

• ACCIONA’s Complaints Management Process has procedures in place to addressnoise specific complaints. Complaints about wind farm noise can also be raisedthrough the National Wind Farm Commissioner’s office.
