Information

In this document you will learn how to wire, setup and configure SAGEM SIGMA readers. You will

also learn on how to use the SAGEM tools and how to do the setup in Softwin3.

There are three types of SIGMA Readers.

Morpho SIGAM Lite Series. Morpho SIGAM Lite + Series. Morpho SIGMA Series.

Requirements

Hardware:

One of the Morpho SIGMA Series readers.

PC:

Make sure that .Net Framework 4 is installed on PC.

Make sure the Visual Studio C++ 2010 is installed on PC.

Softcon CD – includes software and drivers.

Softwin3 V1.04.14 and upwards.

Below is an image of the wiring of the Morpho SIGMA reader Series to a CR391 controller.

Installing MorphoBioToolBox Software for SIGMA

This software is used to configure all Morpho SIGAM Series readers. This allows you to change the IP

address, change the Wiegand and so on.

The MBT software replaces the old SAGEM Configuration tool.

Please note that the MBT Tool can only be used with Morpho SIGMA Series readers.

Please follow these steps below to install the MBT Tool.

1. Run the MBTB_Setup_V3.0.0.exe

2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Using the MorphoBioToolBox software

In this section I will explain briefly how the MBTB tool works and what need to configure to get the

Morpho SIGMA Series reader to work.

1. Double-click on the MBTB icon

2. Enter the Morpho SIGMA series Reads IP address and click on Connect.

Please note when connecting to the Morpho SIGMA Lite or Morpho SIGAM Lite + you need to

connect to the reader with the default IP Address. 134.1.32.214

3. After connecting to the reader the following screen will appear showing all the information

about the Morpho SIGMA reader.

4. Click on the Settings icon.

5. Select the Communication Configuration Tab.

Under the IP Address Settings fill in the relevant information

I. IP Address – The IP address for the SIGAM reader.

II. Network Mask – The subnet mask of the network.

III. Gateway – will be the IP address of the PC running Softwin3.

IV. Preferred DNS – DNS IP address (if you don’t have one use 1.1.1.1).

V. Alternative DNS – Secondary DNS IP address (if you don’t have one use

1.1.1.1).

Click on the Write button when done entering the relevant information.

6. Click on the Controller Quick Configuration tab and then click on the Wiegand tab.

7. Here you can set the Wiegand output for the Morpho SIGMA Series reader.

Please remember to click on the Write button to save the changes to the Morpho

SIGAM series reader.

8. Click on Yellow Key.

9. Click on the Manages Configuration Key

Here you can set the Morpho SIGMA Series reader to use the following settings.

Just finger

Finger and card

Finger or Card

10. Look for ucc.trigger_event. Set the value to one of the following.

1 for Just finger

2 for Finger and Card

3 for Finger or Card

11. Remember to click on the Write button to save the data to the Morpho SIGMA Series reader.

12. Look for ucc.user_recored_reference. And set the value to one of the following.

Value 1. Only if you are using cards on the Morpho SIGMA Series reader.

13. Remember to click on the Write button to save the settings to the Morpho SIGMA Series

reader.

14. Click on Device Icon.

15. Click on Events Configuration.

16. Insert tick in the User Control successful tick box under Send to Controller.

This allows the Morpho SIGMA Series reader to save the correct information to the

reader when fingerprint templates and data is sent to the reader via Softwin3.

17. Remember to click on the Write button to save the settings to the Morpho SIGMA Series

reader.

Configuring MiFare on Sigma Lite Multi Reader

In this section we will go thru the procedure to setup MiFare cards on Sigma Lite Multi readers.

18. Click on the yellow key.

19. Search for the following setting and make the relevant changes.

ucc.per_user_rules = 0

ucc.finger_bio_auth_rule = 0

20. Make the following changes to sc.verify_user_id.

0 = Reads the ID number programed on the card.

1 = Reads the cards serial number standard.

2 = Reads the cards serial number in reverse.

21. Remember to click on the Write button to save the settings to the Morpho SIGMA Series

reader.

Morpho SIGMA Series Setup in Softwin3

In this section of the document I will show you how to setup Morpho SIGMA Series readers in

Softwin3. And how to download and enrol fingerprint templates.

FP Reader Set-up

Please make the following changes to the columns in FP Reader Set-up:

Column Name Description Name Fingerprint reader name.

Reader Fingerprint reader reference.

Type Fingerprint Reader Type.

PC Reference of PC witch fingerprint readers is connected.

IP Address IP Address of fingerprint reader.

CD Min Minimum user card data.

CD Max Maximum user card data.

Vis Min Minimum visitor card data.

Vis Max Maximum visitor card data.

Enrol Save Save user record to fingerprint reader during enrolment session.

Using Card No Send card number to fingerprint reader, else reference.

Consolidation Use 3 fingers capture to increase quality.

2FP Acquisition Use two acquisitions per finger.

FP Protocol

Please note that you need to setup the SAGEM readers and the MSO Enrolment reader in the FP

Reader Set-up.

FP App setup

Please make the following changes to the columns in FP App Setup:

Column Name Description

App Application ID of the fingerprint reader.

FP Reader Reference number of the fingerprint reader used by the application.

Registering MACI dll

Please note that after all the setups have been done on the Sigma readers and on Softwin3. And you

still can’t download finger print templates to the readers. Follow the below steps.

Please make sure that the following dll (SagemTFP.dll) is located under

C:\Softwin3\exe

If dll exist, please register the dll by following these steps below.

1. Register SagemTFP.dll in c:\softwin3\exe. - Run cmd as Administrator - Type in cmd cd c:\softwin3\exe

Run line:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\regasm /codebase
