*SB (singing bell) is accomplished by using an 8-inch dowel with at least 1-inch diameter. Lightly tap the lip of the bell to startthe sound, and then quickly rub the rim of the bell with the dowel in a circular motion to begin the “singing.” A fair degreeof pressure is required. Begin to ring the C4 with the singing bell technique. When it is an established sound, continue withthe D4. When the D4 is established, then start the G4 in the same manner. Stop the singing bell technique after measure 26, butallow the bells to vibrate freely until the chimes enter in measure 28.
**Bells E6-C7 should be rung as suspended malleted bells, in a random ring, through measure 24.
Handchimes used: 3 octaves (20 chimes)
