LAC and RAC Entry The following activity is carried out in DNS servers as requested by the circle PACO team. PURPOSE
This description outlines the step by step process involved in the LAC and RAC entry in DNS servers. The process described is intended for all Nokia systems. CATEGORY

Reflection for HYD,MUM SGSN and for DNS Server 1&2.
TEAMS INVOLVED
GNSC NSS CM PaCo and Circle PACO team.
STEP 1: Check the data received from authorized PACO engineer for correctness & all essential data. STEP 2: Login to DNS server 1 to check for the appropriate file in which entry is to be made. STEP 3: Covert the NRI,LAC and RAC for the particular SGSN into Hexadecimal

number. STEP 4: Entries are made in the file and is updated with the appropriate LAC RAC and NRI entries along with the correct IP address associated with the particular NRI and PAPU unit. STEP 5: Replicate the file from DNS1 to DNS2 STEP 6: Cross check if the entries done at DNS server 1 are replicated to the DNS server 2. NOTE: 1. Take the Dump for DNS Servers to avoid any risk. 2. Save logs for future reference.
