LOOM Special Meeting
All LOOM Members are hereby notified of a special meeting to be
held at 7:30 PM on Tuesday February 14th. The following topics will
be on the agenda. Any member who has an interest in any or all of
these topics is encouraged to attend.
1. Discussion and vote on a proposal by the Board of Officers to
add an additional 20 years to the length of our current cell tower
which expires in 11 years. This would effectively increase the
lease period to 31 years from today.
2. Discussion and vote on a proposal by the Board of Officers to
donate our 2 unused big screen TVs to the Quincy Lodge and to
donate our 4 unused small screen TVs to the Sr. Center.
LOOM Board of Officers
Greetings from your Governor
The New Year began with a great New Year’s Eve party that was well attended.
Lew Pinson prepared some great food, and from all reports everyone had a great
time.
As I write this article the new dance floor and the new carpet in the adjoining
area are essentially complete with only a few small items needing to be completed.
These should be finished by the time you read this report. Also, as I write this
report, two of the three new TVs have been installed and the third one will be
installed in the game room by the time you read this Newsletter. From all reports I
have heard these improvements are appreciated by our members. A special
thanks to Tommy Long for his work in conjunction with the new floors and Wayne
Bryan for installing the new Televisions. Personally I want thank Richard
Williamson for putting these projects together and making them happen.
On Saturday February 18th we will have a short ceremony to dedicate the new
large flat screen television in the Social Quarters to Michael Kuhn who gave the
funds to the Lodge for this purchase in his Will. The ceremony will be at 4:00
followed by free snacks and drinks until 6:00 as requested by Michael in his Will.
Please join us as we remember and honor Michael.
A Special Meeting will be held by the Lodge on February 14th to address a
couple of issues. Please see the ad in this newsletter.
We have many maintenance chores that need to be done periodically to keep
the Lodge operating smoothly. One of these tasks is to clean the filter over the
stove in the kitchen. It takes quite a bit of time and is messy. Thanks to Fred
Osbourne for doing this essential task. While on this topic, we desperately need
someone or some group to volunteer to give the kitchen a good cleaning on a
designated schedule. Please volunteer and help your Lodge.
This is the time of year we begin the process to elect a new Board of Officers.
If you want to run for an office, sign up with Richard Williamson by February 21st.
The Nominating Committee made up of the current Board of Officers, Past
Governors, and Pilgrims will meet following the Business Meetings on February
21st, March 6th and March 20th. The election of the new officers will be held on April
3rd. Step forward and sign up to serve your Lodge.
Fraternally, Bob Greer, Governor
TALLAHASSEE MOOSE LODGE #1075 -MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE
Our next Moose Legion meeting will be on February 6th at 6:30 pm. The meat
will be provided so please bring a covered dish or dessert. We had a real good
time at the Moose Legion Celebration in Quincy and if you missed it you should
not have. The next District meeting will be on February 12th at the Moose Lodge
in Wakulla. Please plan to attend if you can and support our Moose Legion. One
of our legion members, Ray Walke, has died on Friday January 20th. Please
keep his family in your prayers. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Phone book listing change…
Attention all members… we have changed our listing in the phone
book to “Moose Lodge 1075”… In case you need to look us up…
How can I get my Moose Prints faster?
And in FULL COLOR? That’s easy! We can email you a copy of your Moose Prints as soon
as it’s completed, and you’ll receive it about a week faster than your
friends who receive their paper copy in the mail. The added bonus is
that you are saving your Lodge and Chapter money in paper and
mailing costs. The more money we make the more we can help our
charities! And you might just save a few trees in the process. Just
send your email address and the name your newsletter is currently
mailed to, to [email protected], and ask to be added to
the email list for Moose Prints!

From the Desk of the Senior Regent
I would like to thank all those that participated in the Youth Involvement Committee’s chili cook-off
and a special thanks to Jerry Monk, Lynn Lease and Alma Henley for serving as our judges. You did
an outstanding job even if I did not win. A good time was had by all. Another special thanks to
Ronald Murphy, Joe Wyrick and Wade Bennett for helping with the setting up and taking down of the
tables.
Alma Henley sends a big thanks to all that participated in the College of Regent’s blanket drive. We
collected a huge box of blankets and they were donated to the Chelsea House. Good job coworkers.
February is going to be another busy and fun month. The Academy of Friendship is sponsoring the
Valentine Dinner/Dance on February 11th. Tickets will be on sale starting January 27th for $25.00
per couple or $15.00 each and may be purchased from Donna in the Social Quarters, or any member
of the Academy of Friendship. We will also be selling roses at the dinner for your favorite sweetheart.
Please bring your donations for the Valentine basket to the lodge before February 11th. A special
dinner is planned consisting of steamboat round roast beef, garlic roasted potatoes, vegetables and
cake.
The College of Regents will be sponsoring the Supper Club dinner and entertainment to be held
March 10th. The tickets will be $12.00 each and will be on sale after the Valentine dinner. If you are
interested in being in the show please see Alma Henley or one of the College of Regents members
for information and to be added to the program. The first practice will be on Thursday, February 9th
at 7:00 p.m. and each Thursday night until the week of the event.
The Community Services Committee will be having a spring garden basket raffle on February 24th at
the 10:30 drawing. We are in need of donations for the raffle basket. Please bring any donations for
the spring garden basket to the lodge or get them to Pat Browder. Tickets for this basket will go on
sale on February 10th. Also don’t forget about the Craft Fair to be held on March 24th and get your
applications into WOTM by March 19th.
The Women of the Moose will be having our special Ways and Means meeting February 16th at 7:00
p.m. and this will be an open meeting. Both men and women are welcome and we look forward to
having a good crowd. Any guest you may want to invite is also welcome. The practice for the Supper
Club for this week will be immediately after the meeting.
Nominations are now being collected for officers in WOTM. If you are interested in serving your
Chapter as an officer, please complete the form located on the bulletin board in the foyer at the lodge
and place it in the nomination box or give it to any of the WOTM officers. The Nominating Committee
will meet on February 13th, 20th and 27th at 6:00 P.M.
Help us to create some interest by letting all your family and friends know that they may now join by
only paying the $30.00 annual membership dues through April and that if they sponsor 2 members
before the end of April their dues will be paid for the coming year.
Hope everyone has a good spring!

Greeting From Your Administrator,
What makes our Lodge and all Lodges successful are its volunteers. Without them our success would
be minimal. Our volunteers in Bingo are the life blood of the financial success of our Lodge. Without a
successful Bingo Program, our Lodge would be a totally different place. Anyone who thinks otherwise is
flat out wrong. I, for one, truly appreciate our Bingo volunteers as I know you are the ones, even if you
do not realize it, which makes our Lodge financially secure and allows us to have the outstanding facility
that we have and enables us to support the activities that we have all come to enjoy. The problem is that
the same few dedicated volunteers continue to pull the entire load. We have to same problem with the
Wednesday and Friday night Dinners. The same few dedicated volunteers pull the entire load in our
kitchen which enables all our members to have a nice place to come and enjoy a fine meal at a very
modest price. I would venture to say that 95% of our members, which is approximately 900 people, have
not set foot in our kitchen to help out in the past year. We also have the same problem with the repair
and maintenance work that has to be done around our Lodge. This Lodge belongs to all the members
and it is the responsibility of each and every one of you to do your fair share to keep us successful.
Then there are those of you who, for whatever reason I do not understand, believe that it is the members
of the Board of Officers responsibility to do all this volunteer work. I wish those of you who believe this
would show me in the Moose International by Laws, which list the duties and responsibilities of each
officer position, that it is the duty of the Board of Officers cook, clean, repair, etc. Yes, they should do
their fair share but it is just as much the responsibility each member to volunteer their time as it is a
member of the Board of Officers. I have no doubt this is one of the main reasons no one wants to run for
office. Getting members to volunteer and help out around our Lodge is getting to the critical stage. If
you do not think so, you are wrong. I can assure you that if things do not change by the time our next
fiscal year begins on May 1st, some of the activities that we have all come to enjoy and take for granted,
such as the Wednesday and Friday night dinners, may become a thing of the past. Generally speaking,
the new Governor who takes office on May 1st recruits kitchen crews to volunteer and commit to a
specific Wednesday or Friday night each month during the New Year. If we cannot get volunteers, there
will be no meals. This is a problem we all need to take seriously if we want to continue to have the best
place in town to go and have fun.
The Board of Officers are proud to announce the distribution of 4th Quarter (Oct., Nov., & Dec.) Bingo
profits in the amount of $26,000. The Distributions are as follows:
