Moola LOVESJune Dairy Month!

Note from the Director - Cindy Polzin

June 2018 2

My most cherished memories are of me as a kid growing up on a small dairy farm in Pound, Wisconsin. Farming is truly a labor of love, which is why June Dairy Month is so special. It's a time to celebrate an industry that defines our state and makes us the one and only, America's Dairyland.

Throughout the month of June this heritage is celebrated with parades, fairs, and the always popular breakfast on the farm. These events provide an opportunity for everyone to meet our dairy farmers, enjoy some home cooking, and get a feel for what it is like to be a farmer. In honor of June Dairy Month we are currently offering two dairy inspired instant scratch tickets, Cash Up and Land of Milk and Money. I hope you all take time to thank the farmers in your communities.

June is a busy month around the Wisconsin Lottery. We have launched our Birthday Raffle with tickets available through June 27, 2018 or until 50,000 tickets are sold. The prize drawing will be held on June 28, 2018.

Our Special Events team has put together radio remotes at retailers throughout the state. Page four of this newsletter has a detailed list of locations and times. Please check out the Special Events page on our website (www.wilottery.com/specialev-ents) for other places to find our Special Events team this month.

We are also nearing the end of our fiscal year. We are anticipating an excellent year of sales which we could not have reached without all of our hard working retailers. I want to personally thank you for all you do.

This month we travel to the Village of Cascade in Sheboygan County where we visit another retailer who has been working with the Wisconsin Lottery since the beginning in 1988. Cascade is in the heart of the Kettle Moraine; a natural glacial forma-tion stretching from Walworth County in the south to Kewaunee County in the north. A "Kettle" is caused when glacial ice buried by sediment later melts to leave depressions ranging from small ponds to large lakes.

Our Retailer of the Month, Marshall's Gas N Goods, opened their doors in Cascade, the spring of 1988 (the same year as the Lottery). They are the "go to" store, where they try to fulfill the needs of the rural community. According to owner, Carol Mar-shall-Horne, the business was originally financed in part with a Wisconsin Rural Community Grant. This state grant program is still an active and available source at the local level for any business in the village. Marshall's Gas N Goods is active in support-ing local organizations and people. Their business has grown to multiple stores throughout the county and they enjoy being a part of customers lives as they have always supported Marshall's through the years.

The Lottery display at Marshall's is prominently featured on the front counter with a 16-game Promoter, one oversized ticket cube and a Ticket Menu Board. They are signed up for the Initial Distribution program for every price point so they receive all new scratch tickets the day they are launched. Lottery Players appreciate great customer service and attention to detail.Marshall's Gas N Goods has seen many changes in thirty years of working with the Lottery and the with convenience store business. But, one thing that has always been a constant is the loyalty of their customers. Customers often start and finish their day by stopping at the store!

Cascade is located in Sheboygan Co. with Hwy 28 running right through it!

Got a Jammed Ticket?Reminder about……….Reprints

The REPRINTS button is conveniently located on the home screen of the GT 1200 terminal. If you experience a jam when printing a ticket for a player, follow these steps: 1. Press the REPRINTS button to reprint either the last transaction, last wager, last online cash or last instant cash. 2. Staple the reprinted ticket to the unreadable ticket. 3. Send the reprint and the unreadable ticket to the Lottery in an adjustment envelope. (Be sure to complete required information) 4. Report equipment issues to the Retailer Hotline at 1-800-242-7782, choose option 3, then option 1.

Please remember that reprints are not valid as tickets and should never be given to players. You can obtain adjustment envelopes from IGT or print an adjustment form at https://retailer.wilottery.com/files/retailers/forms/adjustment.pdf

The INSTANT BILLING LIABILITY REPORT has been up-dated to include the EFT Date. This is the date on which funds are swept from your bank account to pay for all

Lottery tickets. TOTAL PACK COST on this report is listed on the WEEKLY BILLING INVOICE as INSTANT PACKS BILLED.

Refer to the WEEKLY BILLING INVOICE to see the grand total amount of the weekly sweep.

Manually Scanning a TicketWhen cashing tickets, always try to scan the appropriate barcodes first. If for some reason the barcodes are unreadable, both Lotto tickets and Scratch tickets may be processed man-ually through the terminal. These instructions may be found on the terminal by selecting:

Special Functions>View Flyer>Terminal Reference Guide.

6June 2018Lottery TipsAs summer approaches and Lottery sales increase due to tourism, it is important to be able to provide good customer service to your new and regular Lottery players. How can you do this? Here are some helpful tips to keep the sales growing:

Lottery Terminal KnowledgePlayslips can be sent through vertically or horizontally. If a ticket can't be scanned, you can manually enter the numbers into the terminal. Refer to your Quick Reference Guide for complete instructions.

Winner PayoutIf you have a dollar payout limit at your location, please POST A SIGN telling your customers the limit amount. This is not only good customer service but it prevents a clerk from accidentally running a large winning ticket throughthe terminal and not being able to pay it out.

Change Paper RollsLotto tickets are easy to sell, but if a lotto ticket misprints, it could be awhile before you'll get your credit. The easiest way to avoid misprinted tickets is to make sure that your terminal paper is loaded correctly.

When you change paper rolls, tear off the end of the paper until you are past the sticker to prevent any tickets from accidentally printing on the sticker.

Also, when a RED line appears at the end of the roll, change the paper imme-diately to avoid misprints. Gemini retailers must also remember to regularly check their paper rolls.
