VirusPlus is an experimental design + fashion label projet

Design as problem-solving characterizes VirusPlus. The approach is viral, the effort compact. A virus is a small infectious agent that can only replicate itself inside a living cell, radically altering its structure; VirusPlus is an experimental design + fashion label which contaminates the codified repertoire of men’s urban clothing using the technology and performance factor of extreme sportswear. The result is Techno-Tailormade (TTM™) items.

il design come problem-solving caratterizza Virusplus. l’approccio è virale, l’impegno compatto. Un virus è unpiccolo agente infetto che può solo replicare se stesso dentro ad una cellula vivente, alterando radicalmente la sua struttura; Virusplus è un marchio sperimentale di design + fashion che contamina il repertorio codificato dell’abbiagliamento urbano da uomo utilizzando la tecnologia e il fattore di performance degli sport estremi. il risultato sono dei prodotti techno-tailormade (ttm™).

TTM™ is not sportswear. It’s not tailoring in the traditional sense of the term, either. It uses sports solutions – breathable meshes, waterproofing, tape, functional hidden pockets, unbreak-able buttons – for the type of clothing a tailor would make. This means that sewing machines, needles and scissors have been craftily adapted to work with man-made, state-of-the-art fabrications.

ttm non è sportwear, così come non è sartoria, nel senso tradizionale del termine. ttm utilizza soluzioni dello sport – reti traspiranti, resistenti all’acqua, nastri, tasche funzionali nascoste, bottoni irrompibili – per la tipologia di abbigliamento che potrebbe fare un sarto. Ciò significa che macchine da cucire, aghi e forbici sono stati artigianalmente adat-tati all’artificiale, a realizzazioni che sono ‘avanguardia pura’.

The process of con-tamination is radical as it is irreversible: as the DNA of activewear and formalwear mingle, the morphing of tailoring and performance creates new clothing categories.

VirusPlus contaminates the repertoire of urban menswear with the technol-ogy and performance factor of extreme sportswear. The process of contami-nation is irreversible: as the DNA of activewear and formalwear mingle, new clothing categories arise.From the collaboration with Valextra, expressed in a limited-edition laptop bag, a special VirusPlus project has been developed: a bicycle, a technotai-lormade™ jacket and the aforemen-tioned bag united into a capsule where working, dressing and moving follow the same plan. The unifying elements are materials, details and colors, with intense military green contrasted by the bright orange of linings as a trademark.

Virusplus contamina il repertorio dell’ ab-bigliamento maschile urbano con la tecnologia e la performance degli sport estremi. il proces-so è irreversibile: mentre i dna dell’activewear e del formalwear si intrecciano, il morphing crea nuove categorie vestimentarie. dalla collaborazione con Valextra, che ha prodotto una laptop bag in edizione limitata, nasce un progetto Virusplus sviluppato: bicicletta, giacca technotailormade™ e borsa,

uniti in una capsula nella quale lavorare, muoversi e vestirsi rispondono ad un disegno comune. Elementi unificanti sono le materie, i dettagli e la scelta cromatica, con il verde militare contrastato dall’arancio acceso degli interni a fare da sigla.
