neighborhood in Chicago, IL called Pilsen. • Pilsen is a thriving, culturally diverse place in the

Lower West side of Chicago!

The Problem We’re Solving• We live here!• We go to school here!• It’s our local community!

• But we don’t know what else to do here

How to know where to go?• We make choices about what to do and where to go

based on our mood• Mood = ‘a temporary state of mind or feeling’ (Oxford

Dictionary)• Several psychological studies have proven that mood

affects choice* • What if you know your mood but don’t know the choices

you have available to you?

Enter Mood in the Hood!

• We came together to find a solution to our problem by creating an app that suggests locations in Pilsen based on a person’s mood.

• Users can select from the following moods: Happy Studious Romantic Energetic

Depressed

Hungry SpiritualThriftyMusicalCreative

We have two targeted markets: 1) The people of Pilsen, IL

2) Visitors to Pilsen, IL

3) Anyone having trouble with their emotions and need suggestions for things to do and places to go in Pilsen!

Our Welcome Screen

Step #1: User Chooses Mood from a list

Step #2: The app displays all results suitable to the mood selected

• For example, user chooses “Hungry”. The app displays all locations related to this mood

Step #3: The user can find more information by clicking on specific profile pages of locations listed

Example: When the user selects “Pilsen’s Mini Mart” the following information comes up on the app:Address, Map, Hours, Phone #, Images, Reviews, User Rating

Step #4: The user can leave a review and rate the location based on their mood experience
