The reason I chose Kevin Spacey is because I think he can play quite a strict character but then also add a comedic value to it as. He would also be good for the boss character because of his age and how he usually dresses in other films. The audience would love him and hate him at the same time as well, because of his attitude when it comes to a role like this. Comedy films that Kevin Spacey has been involved in are Horrible Bosses 1 & 2 and Fred Claus. The person to play this character will probably have to be one of my school teachers because they are both of similar age and both wear suits for their roles. This type of character would usually be very sly, fearless and harsh.

I think that Seth Rogen would be the best actor for my main role because I wanted to have a main character that is funny, but also nice enough that the audience will feel sympathy towards him if something bad happens to him. Previous comedy films that Rogen has starred in are This Is The End, Pineapple Express and Knocked Up. I have a friend who could play this specific role because he looks similar to Rogen and can also perform like him as well. The expected conventions of this particular character are that he is vulnerable, alone and seeking to achieve new things.

This is the sort of idea I had for what Geoff’s room could look like. I feel like the untidiness could reflect on Geoff's life and show the audience how he usually lives his everyday life.

4.Darin Brooks(Brad The Room Mate)

To play Geoff’s room mate, I want to use someone that has similar properties to Darin Brooks. The reason for this is because Brooks behaviour in the Blue Mountain State series is extremely wild and always seems to annoy his friends, no matter what he does. He also adds in humour, which could be beneficial in my film trailer as I would like there to be some element of humour in their as well.

Now here is another scene idea that thought of. A stereotypical office. This could be where Geoff works for a job and he hates this place so much, he always falls asleep. The Boss will be located here and any encounters that we see of Geoff and The Boss, will be here.

For The Girlfriend character, I chose Sarah Silverman as inspiration. The reason for this is that she is well known for playing attractive women but with a bit of backbone to her and completely oppresses the archetype of being the “princess that needs rescuing” in her film roles.

This picture symbolizes our idea of what the film is all about. Lucid Dreaming. The idea of Geoff learning the ability of being able to fall asleep and control his dreams on demand is the main element to make his life less miserable. This is most likely our unique feature in our film.

As a keen video game lover, I wanted include some iconic game props/icons that our target audience will recognize. They will be included in Geoff's dream sequences, as Geoff also likes video games as well. Not only will I have this icons post-edited, I will probably include some cool nerdy props as well!

Along will the video game icons being added in with special effects, I thought, why not add some cool explosions with these effects too! I will probably use this in a confrontation scene, like The Boss encounter as it will help remind the audience that Geoff is in a dream and not in reality.

Dreams are a form of escapism from reality right? So I thought Geoff should dream about being in a happy place. This will place a more positive and uplifting mood on the film and drift away from all the fighting and the dull life of Geoff that the audience are constantly reminded of.

This image gave me an idea of where Geoff and The Neighbour can meet. A quite neighbourhood usually means nothing can go wrong, until Geoff meets his annoying neighbour and can never seem to get rid of him.

In contrast to the happy location of dreaming, I thought it was only right to have a bad location too. This lava-filled planet could be used as a symbol of something bad happening to Geoff, kind of like in Star Wars Episode III, where the famous Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi fight occurred.

Negative Lucid Dreaming

Joe Lo Truglio(The Neighbour)

Jo Lo Truglio would be the perfect actor to play our neighbour. As much as he is very annoying in his film roles, we cannot help but still have a soft side towards him. Like in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he never fails to make the audience laugh with his awkwardness and cute looks.

Finally, my favourite part of special effects, is adding in bright neon lights and text to our film! This will most likely be included during fight scenes and also any pop up text. I want to look like a video game pop up, like in Scott Pilgrim VS The World because I think it works well with the type of film it is can possibly work well in our film.
