The Café de l’Atrium was officiallyopened for business on June 22ndafter extensive renovations.
Situated in Pavillion G and easilyaccessible from all areas of thehospital, the Café has been enlargedand redecorated. The menu features alarge selection of dairy hot and colditems as well as everyday nutritiousand delicious specials, affordably pricedand, of course, kosher.
The Café de l’Atrium is still thefavorite meeting place for hospitalemployees and visitors alike. JGHChaplain, Rabbi Myer Schecter,participated in the ribbon cuttingceremony. He lauded the efforts of The AuxiliaryExecutive and Board for their services provided to the hospitaland community-at-large.

It is with great pride that weembark upon our two year tenureas Co-Presidents of The Auxiliary SirMortimer B. Davis Jewish GeneralHospital.
Since its inception in 1936 as avolunteer non-profit organizationdedicated to the service of the SirMortimer B. Davis Jewish GeneralHospital community, The Auxiliaryhas been committed to initiatingworthwhile programs to provide good public relations andto raise funds to enhance the quality and effectiveness ofhospital services.
It is our intention, with the support of our Vice-Presidents,Executive, Board and Auxiliary members, to continue todevelop this exciting challenge while fostering ourpartnership with the Hospital Administration, Center Board,Foundation and the Volunteer Department.
We hope to increase revenues in our existing businessessuch as Second Cup, Maison de la Presse, the Flower Shopand our newly expanded and decorated Atrium CoffeeShop, which also boasts an increasingly popular cateringservice. With these revenues, as well as those from ourexciting fundraisers such as the recent Casino Royale, Fall
Fair, Bridge Luncheon and the GolfClassic Souvenir Book , we willcontinue to purchase new andinnovative medical equipment for thehospital.
Since the raison d’être of TheAuxiliary is to serve our patients andcommunity-at-large, it is ourintention to continue vital projectssuch as Dr. Clown, HOPS, Kosher
Meals-on-Wheels, Helping Heart,Care/Humour Cart and Lifeline Personal Response Service.
Membership is the essence of The Auxiliary! We will workhard to support and encourage our hardworking newyounger members who successfully published andmarketed the newest and hottest bestseller cookbook –Panache – Montreal’s Flair for Kosher Cooking. We lookforward to announcing to our 4000 strong membership,our celebratory plans for a Gala 70th Anniversary Event in the spring of 2006. With this kind of dedicatedmembership we know The Auxiliary will go from strengthto strength.

As our major fundraising event, The Auxiliary once again joined the JGH Foundation in publishing a Souvenir Book.
This year’s Golf Classic helped defray the cost of the expansion to our Nuclear Medicine Department. This expansion will enable the Department to
provide essential diagnostic information for treatment of cancer and cardiology patients.
