A suggestion was made to me to offer a time when theological/Biblical subjects

could be debated. I brought the suggestion to the Board of Elders, who were in

agreement with implementation.

Therefore, I am offering a new option for Biblical discussion.

In September we will launch a topical question and answer discussion time on

Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. This will begin on September 21, the Sunday after Re-

vival Services are completed and meet each Sunday after that.

Do you have a question about a Bible passage that you would like to have discussed further? If so, please email it to me ([email protected]), post it on

the Blue Connection Cards on Sunday, or text it to me at 574-870-4990.

Then on Sunday nights we will meet informally in the sanctuary for an open

discussion/debate session on the topics you have suggested. We will continue to

hold these sessions as long as people have a desire to discuss/debate the

Scriptures.

All minutes, financials, and reports were approved as presented.

Money is available to purchase TV’s and DVD players for each classroom. Promotion Sunday is September 7th.

Daycare Committee reported that school age kids raised $250 from their car wash for their summer activities. There will be about 7 kids in the afterschool program this year. CPR certification is due by August.

Exterior Property Committee reported benches have been finished & flowers planted by the cross at Centarbor in memory of Jack & Betty Naugle. Flowers will be planted in the front door area of Youth Building before the Community Open House.

CORRECTION

I am wrong. I have asked several Sundays what Moses saw on the mountain. The answer was the burning bush. I confused two

stories. The burning bush happened at the deliverance of the Israelites, not at the time of the Ten Commandments. I apologize

for telling you wrong.

THANK YOU NOTES MEMORIAL FUND

The love and support of my church family has been such a comfort during the time of Larry’s illness and pass-ing. Thank you to Rev. Chris for a wonderful memorial ser-vice, Brad for the music, the CWF for the delicious funeral lunch and all who have been there for me. I appreciate the gifts of money for the Memorial Gar-den, M.S., and lung cancer. In Christian love, Reva Hundley and family Dear Rev. Dodson and Congregation, Words cannot express the gratitude I feel when I look back over all the prayers that went out for me during this most difficult time in my life. I have been blessed with good news. All the cancer was contained in one lobe of my right lung. I’ve been told “they got it all”. As Marsha (Morlan) may have told some of you, I was up the day after surgery cleaning up the room, putting on my make-up and fixing my hair. “It was God’s will for me to do that!” I have felt warmth, comfort, and God’s strong spirit from the moment I walked into Monticello Christian Church in 2003. I look forward to attending as many Sun-day services as I can in the future. Thank you for praying for me. God has been generous with touching and healing my body. You will all be in my prayers daily. Sharon Reynolds To Monticello Christian Church Family, We want to thank you so much for beautifying our neighborhood with your carillon music. We can set our clocks by it! What a joy to be working in the yard or visit-ing on the porch only to have a serenade! The old hymns are steadfast memories that sustain us. You are doing all of us within earshot a great service. Thank you!! With Love & Gratitude, Cindy & Rod Ehrlich Monticello Christian Church, I am so humbled by all the support I have received—the beautiful flowers—the cards—the prayers—the prayer chain—and all the Christian support. Thank you to Rev. Chris for his time and support he extended to my family during our time of need. Thank you and God bless you all. Fay (MiMi) Crowder Hinshaw I would like to thank everyone who prayed for me, visited sent cards and called since my recent surgery. Your acts of kindness are appreciated so much. Also, thanks to Rev. Chris for your visits. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a caring church. Please continue to keep me in your prayers. Jo Brooks
