Monthly Scripture Deuteronomy 6:4-9 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Foster Care Informational Meeting If you would be interested in getting information about the foster care system for yourself or someone else, please mark your blue card. We are looking at hosting a one-hour informational meeting if there is interest. Shuttle Bus Service Available For All Services Please take advantage of our shuttle services. We have had visitors that have turned around and left because there was nowhere to park. If you are able to use the shuttle, please do so. It would be greatly appreciated. We will pick you up at the Park and Ride beside Sheetz and drop you off right at the door. New GriefShare Session – 1/25 GriefShare is a biblically based, weekly class for those grieving the loss of a loved one. This 13-week session begins Wednesday, January 25th at 6:30PM.Childcare is available for all ages. The cost is $15 for the workbook and the classes are free. Mark your blue card if you are interested in attending. New Group! T.M.C. The Mom Connection 1/26 Moms of Teens are encouraged to be a part of this new monthly group meeting January 26th at 6:30PM in the Student Center. Pastor Brenda and Marsha Worline will be facilitating the group using brief video clips and the book, “Making it Count” by Karen Stubbs. There will be plenty of time for discussion and fellowship so bring something to share and plan to hang out. The cost is just $10 for the book if you wish to purchase one. CWC Missions Day – 1/28 The WV Christian Women’s Connection will be hosting Missions Day 2017 on January 28th at the Dunbar Church of God. Missionary, Pastor Brian Richardson will be the guest speaker. Please plan to attend. Guest Artist and Speaker Comes to TVCOG – 1/29

Unity Service at TVCOG 1/29 The Kanawha Valley Ministerial Association is sponsoring a Unity Service here at TVCOG on Sunday night, January 29th at 6PM. Voices of Praise Choir will be singing. Please mark your calendars to attend this special service. NO ADULT Wednesday Night Study – 02/1 Due to a guest concert artist our youth group will host on Wednesday, February 1st and their need to have a bigger facility to host the concert, Pastor Melissa will be suspending her Wednesday night Bible study that evening so the students can use the sanctuary. Super Bowl “Jersey Sunday” – 2/5 On Sunday, February 5th we invite you to wear a Jersey supporting your favorite team to the worship service! Super Bowl Parties – 2/5 Bob and Doris Cottrell are hosting a “Young at Heart” party for those 55+ at 5:30PM at 3709 Cambridge Dr. in Hurricane. Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share and call 304-397-6657 to RSVP. Randall and Rachel Parsons are hosting a party for anyone at 6:00PM – 208 Red Bud Lane in Hurricane. Please bring appetizers and desserts to share. Drinks will be provided. RSVP to 304-395-2201. Forrest & Lisa Hall are hosting a “Young Adult” party at 6PM at 206 Lee Ave in Nitro. Please bring a 2-litre, chips and a dessert to share. Moms Lunch Gathering – 2/07 Moms of all ages with flexible schedules are invited to Pastor Melissa's house on February 7th for lunch and fellowship. 11:30 am. Lunch will be provided. Valentine's Couple's Dinner – 2/10 We are having an appetizer buffet at Fireside Grill in Teays Valley on February 10th at 6:30PM. The tentative cost is 20.00 per couple. This is always a great time of laughter and making new friends. Mark your blue card if you can attend. NEW Marriage Class – 2/12 Pastor Thom will be leading a six-week Sunday School class on marriage. The class will be at 9:30AM in the Student Center. Please mark your blue card if you are interested. If you are interested, but currently attend the first service, please mark your blue card stating your interest as Pastor Thom would be willing to lead a class during the second service when this one finishes, if there is enough interest. Sisters in Christ “Chondra Pierce Concert” – 3/2 Comedian Chondra Pierce will be at Maranatha Fellowship Church in St. Albans on March 2nd at 7:00PM. Tickets are General admission and are $26 or $23 for groups of 10 or more. If you want to purchase a ticket through Sisters in Christ mark your blue card and turn in your check made out to TVCOG (with Chondra Pierce in the memo) for $23.00 to reserve your ticket ASAP. Those interested in riding the church bus, meet at the church at 5:45PM. Men’s Annual Myrtle Beach Golf Trip – 4/5-04/8 The Men’s Annual Golf Trip is scheduled for April 5-8. The cost for 3 nights is $389 (Wed, Thurs & Fri nights). The cost for 4 nights is $419 (Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat nights). This includes a $100 gift card that can be used for replays and other Items in the gift shops. Payment is due in full by March 1, 2017. The Garage Student Ministries Wednesday Night Dinners Being Served On Wednesdays there will be a meal offered to the students in the Student center. The meals cost $2.00 and will be served from 5:45PM until 6:30PM. If you have any questions or if you would like to donate a prepared meal for the students please contact Pastor Jed.
Yung D. of C. Concert – 2/01 On February 1st we will be welcoming Yung D. of C. He is a young hip-hop artist with an electric performance and an even more powerful testimony that he will be sharing. Let’s break the 100 student mark for this even. Invite all your friends! Concert begins at 6:30PM. Super Bowl Party – 2/05 Pastor Jed and Marsha will be hosting a Super Bowl party at their home at 17 Meadowood Estates from 5PM – 10PM for all youth students. Youth are asked to bring a 2-liter, chips and a dessert to share. “Beloved” Conference – 3/3-3/4 Beloved is an inspirational weekend for teen and young adult girls. The speakers will be sharing their stories of recovery from brokenness, broken relationships, abuse, and destructive choices. They will focus on how God sees us as His Beloved. This conference is a must for young girls who are still working out their identity in Christ and their identity as young women of God. $25 registration fee goes up after February 1st so please pick up your registration form at the youth booth or Student Center today!
Revved Up Kidz Ministries This Month’s Revved Up Outreach - 1/25 In the Revved Up Ministry we make it a goal to have one outreach a month. This gives our kids an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus. For this month we are going to be collecting hand warmers (hot hands) to give to the men and women who protect our community during these cold winter months! We will need all hand warmers by Wednesday, January 25th. Family Game Night - 01/28 Calling all Revved Up Families! On Saturday, January 28th at 6:30 PM in the Revved Up Garage we will be having a family game night! We ask that each family bring their favorite finger food and 2 liter of pop. The night will consist of several minute it to win it games and whichever family wins the most games will earn a free family meal! So, come join us for a night of family fun! Please fill out your blue card if your family is interested in participating. Family Worship Experience - 2/26 On Sunday, February 26th at 6:30 PM we will be having a Family Worship Experience! This is an opportunity for parents to experience worship with their child! It will be a great time of worship, skits, the word, prizes and pizza! So, come join us for a night of Family Worship!
