Monthly Population Summary January 2014
Average Daily Population in DOC Institutions The average number of Virginia state responsible offenders incarcerated in DOC institutions in January 2014 was 29,908. This is a 0.2% decrease from the 29,981 average Virginia inmate population in custody last month and a 1.4% increase from the average population (29,508) reported one year ago. In January 2014, the average number of out of state offenders housed in contract beds was 71. The total average institutional daily population (ADP) in DOC institutions was 29,979 offenders. Community Corrections Caseload The end of month Probation & Parole caseload for January 2014 was 57,900. This is a 0.3% increase from the 57,709 reported for last month and a 1.0% increase from the 57,322 reported one year ago. Data Sources The Statistical Analysis and Forecast Unit compiles the information contained in this Monthly Population Summary from various Corrections Technology Services Unit (CTSU) Institutional and Community Corrections reports and supplemental reports provided by Community Corrections.
