Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro was born on 5th February of 1985, known

as Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for

Spanish club Real Madrid and the Portugal national team. He is a forward and

serves as captain for Portugal.

He is considered one of the best players and one of the sportsmen most

mediatic today. He has been honored with the award for best player in the

Premier League in 2007 and 2008, as well as Portuguese Sportsperson of the

Year in the same periods. His remarkable performance in the 2007-08 season

earned him the Golden Boot, the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player in 2008.

He began his career at an early age in the C.D. National and then join the

Sporting Lisbon, in the club with which debuted in the top flight of Portuguese

football in 2001.

After observing to Ronaldo in a friendly in 2003, Manchester United signed him

for £ 12.24 million.

After long negotiations the middle of 2009 was transferred to Spanish club Real

Madrid for £ 80 million (€ 94 million, US $ 132 million), becoming the most

expensive transfer in football history. He made his first appearance with the

Portuguese national team in 2003 and since 2008 serves as the captain.

Identified in media with the numeronym CR7, is considered one of the best

players in the world, even to be the best and most complete for a large number

of people and the press linked to sport, as well as one of the figures more

mediatic.

I. EARLY LIFE.-

Ronaldo was born in Santo Antonio, a neighbourhood of Funchal, Madeira, the

youngest child of Maria Dolores Dos Santos Aveiro, a cook, and José Dinis

Aveiro, a municipal gardener. His second given name, "Ronaldo", was chosen

after then-U.S. president Ronald Reagan, who was his father's favourite actor.

He has one older brother, Hugo, and two older sisters, Elma and Liliana Cátia.

His great-grandmother Isabel da Piedade was from Cape Verde.

The family was staunchly Catholic. Ronaldo later claimed that he lived in

poverty, sharing a room with his brother and sisters. Ronaldo was popular with

other students at school, but he was expelled after he threw a chair at his

teacher. Ronaldo later said of the incident, "He disrespected me". At age 14,

Ronaldo agreed with his mother to focus entirely on football. He states, "When I

got to 14 I felt I had the potential. I thought I was maybe good enough at that

time to play semi-professionally".

II. CLUB CAREER.-

II.1. EARLY CAREER:

At age eight, Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorinha, where his father was

the kit man. In 1995, Ronaldo signed with local National Club, and, after a title-

winning campaign, he went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP, who

subsequently signed him for an undisclosed sum.

II.2. SPORTING LISBON:

Ronaldo joined Sporting's other youth players who trained at the Academia

Sporting, the club's football academy, in Alcochete. He became the only player

ever to play for Sporting's under-16, under-17, under-18, B-team, and the first

team, all within one season. He scored two goals in his league debut on 7

October 2002, which Sporting CP won 3–0 against Moreirense, while featuring

for Portugal in the 2002 European Under-17 Championship.

At the age of 15, Ronaldo was diagnosed with a racing heart, a condition that

might have forced him to give up playing football. The Sporting staff were made

aware of the condition and Ronaldo's mother gave her authorization for him to

go into hospital. While there, he had an operation in which a laser was used to

cauterize the area of his heart that was causing the problem.

The surgery took place in the morning and Ronaldo was discharged from

hospital by the end of the afternoon; he resumed training only a few days later.

However he came to the attention of Manchester United manager Alex

Ferguson in the summer of 2003, when Sporting defeated United 3–1 in the

inauguration of the Estadio José Alvalade in Lisbon. Ronaldo's performance

impressed the Manchester United players, who urged Ferguson to sign him. In

April 2013, Sporting honored Ronaldo by selecting him to become the

100,000th member of the club.

II.3. MANCHESTER UNITED:

The trainer Sir Alex Ferguson he assigned the dorsal "7" left by the former

captain of Manchester United, the English midfielder David Beckham, when he

left Real Madrid that same season.

In its second year on British lands, Cristiano Ronaldo would grow as a

footballer, settling as one of the best young of world football.

in football history.

III. ABILITIES.-

Cristiano Ronaldo is a dynamic and fast player who takes advantage of the

offensive spaces. He is right-handed, although left-handed handled equally, this

allows you to play for the two bands. Constantly overflows the sides because of

its ease to go the outside or inside and its various dribbles. His good ball

handling allows you to accelerate their moves, this same speed gives a

considerable advantage to face opposing defenses, giving superiority in attack.

Christian Ronaldo is Catholic and speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.

On 7 September 2005; his father Dennis Aveiro died of renal crisis because of

alcohol. Hours later Ronaldo met with Portugal coach to communicate his

intention to play the match against Russia for classifying to the World Cup in

2006, although manager Alex Ferguson allowed to return to his hometown for

burial so it missed the game against Manchester City.

In October 2006 he is questioned by British police for sexual harassment, but

the charge was dropped for lack of evidence. After two qualifying matches for

the World Cup travels to Indonesia to raise funds for the tsunami that

devastated days earlier.

After being hired by Real Madrid sold his home in Manchester by 6.5 million

euros. On July 4, 2010 a few days after the defeat of the team of Portugal in the

2010 FIFA World Cup announced on Twitter and Facebook who is the father of

a child.

CONCLUSIONS

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players of recent times, and in my

humble opinion the best of all today.

Cristiano Ronaldo has gone through several problems both are family and

personal but he has overcome all these to prove that he can be one of the

best players in soccer history.

Cristiano Ronaldo besides being a great football player has shown also to

be a good son and father, and he loves his family very much, because he

will always seek their professional and personal achievements are enough

to feel proud of his mother.
