Overview
• Monitoring unit is responsible to observe research activities and outcomes after the research grant is awarded to the researchers.
• This unit will assist the researcher to perform their research efficiently especially; – To complete the research work within the proposed time limit – Efficient expanses (<90 % before project due)
• Research outcomes such as publications, patents and postgraduate students will be the major KPI of the project.
• To declare the project has completed and close the account.

Monitoring: Research Outcomes • Present paper (conferences/symposium – indexed)
– Between 3 to 12 months, researchers should be able to produce results (depend on various fields).
– Researchers are expected to publish in indexed conferences – 1 international + 1 local
• Patent and publications – Researches are encouraged to patent before publishing – 1
patent – Published in journal (ISI/Scopus/IEEE) – 3 papers
• MSc/PhD – 1 PhD (if 3 years project) – 1 MSc (if 2 years project)

Monitoring: Expenditure
• Expenditure – Expected to spend up to 90 % before project due
– Monitoring unit will remind researcher(s); • No expenditure after three months
• Expenditure (< 60 %) after; – 6 months – 1 year project
– 12 months – 2 years project
– 18 months – 3 years project
– For new projects; • 20, 40 and 40 % disbursement
