Introduction

• The museum had many famous rare and precious exhibits. The one of the best-impressed artwork was a traditional Mongolian first 3 dimensional wooden puzzle game. So do, I have interested in what it made of and how we play it.

How wooden puzzle come from?

• Since many centuries, Mongolian parents pay attention to their children for their intelligence so the various kinds of puzzles are invented.

The reasons that the Parents thought good to play the game.

Moreover ,an importance of toys as follows:• -It develops people’s mathematical, technical and philosophical thinking

• -it releases people from their standard thinking• -it uncovers people’s hidden talent• -it makes people live longer and healthier, as people are cheerful when they play.

How to play the wooden puzzle?

• Then the puzzles require as many as seven moves to remove the first piece and seventeen moves to disassemble the six pieces completely and continue to assemble.

Kinds of wooden puzzles

• In addition, only wooden burr puzzles divide into 5 different types that three, six, nine also have high level of complexity with twelve and thirty-two piece burrs.

• Furthermore, we do can say, Mongolia is the top of the country that invented and has 100.000 kinds of wooden puzzles than any country.

• The one that I have found in the Museum is different and quite complex and one of the difficult puzzles. • That contains 375 pieces and uses 673 wooden pieces.

Who have played the wooden puzzle?

• The puzzle is designed for developing a logical mind and observation.• So we don’t know who exactly played in the old centuries but about 1900’s we do have a person who was played and still playing wooden puzzle.

 A person that called Tumen-Ulzii. First in 1955 he started to play an wooden puzzle game.

• He was born in 1944 in Aguit, Western Mongolia, as part of a family of eleven children. His parents were herdsmen. He is married and has two sons and two daughters.• Mr. Tumen-Ulzii became interested in puzzles at a very young age when his Father gave him a six-piece burr puzzle with one of the pieces missing. He soon figured out the design of the missing piece, carved a replacement and solved the puzzle. • Since 1955 Mr. Tumen Ulzii has invented, patented and crafted more than 2445 different interlocking mechanical puzzles. He opened his International Intellectual and Puzzle Museum in Ulaan Baatar in 1990 in order to share his puzzles and chess sets with other Mongolians and visitors from all over the World.•  

20th century Mongolian designer• Mr. Tumen-Ulzii has dedicated many years of his life to validate his view that principles of puzzle is originated from nomadic life and chess are also originated from Mongolia, as the country has had rich heritage of toys and intellectual games. He therefore has invented over 3000 works by himself and drawn over 5000 pages technical drawings, definition and received the necessary patents.

The word Tumen-Ulzii said was:

• Indolent and unintelligent people do not play, as toys and games challenges people’s intellectual and physical abilities. Therefore, weak and indolent people tend not to play and people who has a desire and courage for victory play. In other words, it can be said that only intelligent people play.
