    The )ongols were a people that ;new how to use bows to the best ad&antage8 and they had animpressi&e number o% types o% arrow a&ailable to them. This game aid concerns two types o% arrowwhich can be used as options> the arrow with an explosi&e head and the cutting arrow.

    These two types o% arrow can be used alongside normal arrows. During a campaign8 at the start o%each tactical battle the archers are reEsupplied to their maximum carrying capacity with the di%%erenttypes o% arrow> they can ne&er ha&e more than 5 arrows o% each o% each o% these types.

    This is only a&ailable to the )ongols who had the secret o% gunpowder than;s to their contacts withthe Chinese. They were certainly used %rom the end o% the ((th century in the ast and )iddleE

    astern states.

    ach )ongol archer may carry only 5 o% these arrows. /hen an archer dies and he still has someexplosi&e arrows8 another archer may pic; them up by remaining %or a %ull turn next to the deadarcher without %ighting or shooting.

    ,hooting with an explosi&e arrow is only possible during o%%ensi&e %ire. The %use must %irst be lit8

    one o% the most dangerous moments %or the archer. The player rolls 1D1$8 and on 1EJ the arrowexplodes and ;ills the archer 3this happened Buite o%ten6.

    (% the arrow has not exploded8 the player designates a target hex and rolls 1DH to see i% theexplosion has any e%%ect on ad?acent hexes around the target. 1 means that only the target hex isa%%ected8 EH means that one ad?acent hex8 counting cloc;wise %rom lower le%t8 is also a%%ected 3thehex immediately in %ront o% the target is ne&er a%%ected R H is the hex on lower right6.

    This type o% arrow can be used by all types o% archer. (ts purpose is to cut the tendons o% horses andso unhorse the ;nights who will then be on %oot and more &ulnerable.
