So what are the five elements of a narrative, again???

NOTES ON NARRATIVE ELEMENTS:

You have , in previous notes, the five elements of a narrative, or story.

You also have separate notes on some of those elements, such as theme and conflict.

1. Begin with SETTING. Click on that tab, listen to the narrator, and record notes that you think are important into your notebook.

2. Continue in the following order:

• CHARACTERS• SEQUENCE (PLOT)• EXPOSITION• CONFLICT• CLIMAX• RESOLUTION

3. After you have viewed and taken notes for each element, take the “Test Your Skills” quiz at the end and print your results.

• exposition (how will you introduce other people in your story, the setting, and any background info

Plot Structure Components

Exposition: The start of the story. The way things are before the action starts.

Rising Action: the series of conflicts and crisis in the story that lead to the climax.

Climax: The turning point. The most intense moment (either mentally or in action.

Falling Action: all of the action which follows the Climax.

Resolution: The conclusion, the tying together of all of the threads.
