Textbook Fees are due now! Please get that turned as soon as possible. Thank You!
Hello CNMS Families!
It's time for the PTO's annual fundraiser. For your con-
venience, additional information has been attached to
this email.
We are happy to report that there is absolutely nothing to
sell! Instead, we are holding a simple check-writing cam-
paign. Our goal this year is $10,000. We are requesting a
donation of $25 per student; of course, we value contri-
butions of any amount and would love to have 100% par-
ticipation.
Funds will be used to purchase:
1. A commercial 3D printer available to all classes
2. A laptop and software for the Behavior Support Team
3. A portable presentation screen for assemblies and
guest speakers
4. Wireless headset microphones and a sound mixer for
the Drama Club (and available for teachers to use for
student presentations)
Please support the PTO with a donation and help us
achieve our goals of enriching our students' educations!
Mrs. Elsea & Mrs. Bonnell, PTO Presidents
Thanksgiving Break starts Wednesday, November 22 and concludes Friday,
November 24. School will reconvene on Monday, November 27.
Feathers For Families
The feather totals are in and though it was a tight
race to see which one of our teachers would be
wearing a turkey suit on Tuesday, Mrs. Steele
received the most feathers.
The Student Council would like to thank everyone
who bought feathers. They collected $610 that will
go towards holiday baskets for needy families in our
community!

WCSC SNOW DAY / DELAY POLICY
School Cancellations and/or School Delays: Decisions about school cancellations and/or delays will be made by
the School Superintendent and the Transportation Director by 5:45 AM. This information will be posted on the WCSC
website (www.warrick.k12.in.us), put onto Black Board Connect (our parent calling system), and information will be
called into local TV and radio stations. We, at CNMS, will also post closings on social media sites (Facebook and Twit-
ter).
After-School Activities: If school has been canceled or dismissed early, after-school activities are canceled. 2-hour
delays do not affect after-school activities unless the School Superintendent decides otherwise.
In high school and middle school, extracurricular activities (athletic events/practices) follow these general rules:
1st Day Out/Missed - no practices /no games…only under extenuating circumstances (sectionals, holiday tour-
naments, etc.) will exceptions be made on a case-by-case basis, as designated by the School Superintendent.
Multiple Days Out - voluntary practices can be arranged by coaches/sponsors; however, no player shall be
penalized for not attending a voluntary practice since school is not in session due to poor road conditions.
Coaches/sponsors are required to obtain School Superintendent’s permission to hold such voluntary practices/
events.
In elementary school, when school is out or early dismissal occurs, there will be no extracurricular events, practices
or games (school-related or external - e.g., BYBA, feeder teams, etc.) held at the elementary schools.
Please be sure to have alternative plans made in advance in the event we experience any of these situations.
Be sure your student is aware of what he/she is to do if any of these weather-related events should occur.
Student Council Holiday Ornament
No holiday display is complete without
a Castle North Middle School Holiday Ornament!
The Student Council is selling these beautiful ornaments for only $7.00
from now until December 10th. Return the flyer with your payment (checks
to CNMS, please) to your student’s homeroom teacher now!
Quantities are limited so don’t delay!
All proceeds will be used to purchase holiday baskets for less fortunate
CNMS families during the holidays.
**Ornaments will be delivered to 9th period as we receive orders
with payments.

CNMS DRAMA CLUB
“We've Got Character”
The community of Castle North Middle School is very
excited to share that we are planning on performing a
play in Spring of 2018. The newly formed Drama Club is
selling shirts to help raise money for a production. A new
design has been created which will read, "We've Got
Character." If you have already submitted an order, this
will replace the previously offered design. Anyone is wel-
come to purchase a shirt to help financially support the
play. Net proceeds will go towards copyright fees, scripts,
and royalty costs. If you are interested in purchasing a
shirt, please see the attached form. Orders are due to
Mrs. Hogan no later than Wednesday, November 22.
The students really hope for the opportunity to perform
for you! Thank you for your support!
Please, see Mrs. Hogan or Mrs. Humphrey if you have
any questions.
Digital Footprint
What is a digital footprint? When using the Internet, you
visit numerous websites. As you browse from site to site,
you are leaving behind a trail of data about you. Digital
footprints can include photos you post, interactions with
other website users, app use, email records, and the
websites you visit while you’re on the Internet. These are
just a few ways that we leave our digital footprint on the
Internet. And just like someone can follow you around
outside, you can be followed around on the Internet.
Unlike a footprint that you leave outside in the grass, you
digital footprint does not go away. And your digital foot-
print is not only made by what you post but it is also
formed by what others post about you.
Why is a digital footprint important? Your digital foot-
prints can be used to gather information about you to for-
mulate a general picture of who you are and what activi-
ties you show interest in. It should be noted that digital
footprints have been used by varies companies and col-
leges to weed through applicants applying to enter their
establishments.
When you use the Internet, it would be wise to think be-
fore you post. If you would be embarrassed if your par-
ents read what you are about to post, don’t post it. If you
would hate for your coach to see the picture you’re think-
ing of posting, don’t post it! Once something is posted, it
is out there for the world to see virtually forever.
So, what can you do to protect your digital footprint
(online reputation)? First of all, guard your privacy and
don’t share personal information. Secondly, assume that
everyone is watching and nothing you post is truly pri-
vate. Next, choose wisely the sites you visit, and find oth-
er activities to go do besides hanging out on the comput-
er. Lastly, be smart and safe while you use the Internet!
The holidays are a great time to save those Box Tops!
