From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has

been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.

Matthew 11.12

“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!

Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.

God On Fire

1. God the Father On Fire. "God is a consuming fire" (Deut. 4:24; Heb. 12:29). "Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire." (Ex. 19:12).

2. God the Son On Fire. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire" Matthew3:11This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire . . .

Jeremiah used the word “fire” 42XEzekiel used the word “fire” 45X. Amos used the word “fire” 9X.Daniel saw God's eyes like fire. Hosea saw God's coming inferno. Joel saw God's fiery presence before and

behind God's people.Obadiah saw God's fire in the middle of His

people.

God’s Word on Fire

Micah saw the mountains melt like wax before God's fire.

Nahum saw God's fiery reckoning. Zephaniah saw the fire of God's jealousy. Zechariah saw God's fire like a surrounding

blazing wall and God's glory within.

Misuse of Fire

And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?” But Jesus turned and rebuked them. Luke 9.51-55

Distinguishing work Fire

If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.
