RINGKASAN

SUMMARY

PRESTASI INDEKS PENGELUARAN PERINDUSTRIAN

Indeks Pengeluaran Perindustrian (IPP) meningkat sebanyak 0.6% pada bulan Mac 2012 berbanding

dengan bulan yang sama tahun sebelumnya. Peningkatan pada bulan Mac 2012 disebabkan oleh

kenaikan indeks Pembuatan dan Elektrik dengan masing-masing mencatatkan peningkatan 2.0% dan

kenaikan indeks Pembuatan dan Elektrik dengan masing-masing mencatatkan peningkatan 2.0% dan

4.9%. Walau bagaimanapun indeks Perlombongan mencatatkan penurunan sebanyak 4.1%. IPP pada

bulan Februari 2012 telah disemak semula positif 8.2% tahun ke tahun.

Pada asas pelarasan musim bulan ke bulan, IPP bulan Mac 2012 menurun sebanyak 5.2% yang

disebabkan oleh kemerosotan dalam semua indeks: Pembuatan (5.8%), Perlombongan (7.0%) dan

Elektrik (6.0%).

PRESTASI SEKTOR PEMBUATAN

Berasaskan tahun ke tahun, output Pembuatan bagi bulan Mac 2012 mencatatkan peningkatan 2.0%. Output

pada bulan Februari 2012 meningkat 10.4% (pindaan) berbanding dengan bulan yang sama tahun 2011. Sub-

sektor utama yang melaporkan peningkatan dalam output Pembuatan pada bulan Mac 2012 adalah

kumpulan: Produk Petroleum, Kimia, Getah dan Plastik (4.2%); Produk Mineral Bukan Logam, Logam Asas

dan Produk Logam yang Direka (8.6%); dan Kelengkapan Pengangkutan dan Pembuatan Lain (14.3%).

Output pelarasan musim bagi bulan Mac 2012 menurun sebanyak 5.8% berbanding bulan Februari 2012 .

PRESTASI SEKTOR PERLOMBONGAN

Output sektor Perlombongan menurun sebanyak 4.1% pada bulan Mac 2012 berbanding bulan yang sama

tahun 2011. Penurunan tersebut berpunca daripada kemerosotan indeks minyak mentah (6.6%) walaupun

indeks gas asli meningkat sebanyak 0.9%. Berbanding Februari 2012, output pelarasan musim bagi indeks

Perlombongan menurun sebanyak 7.0%.

Output Elektrik meningkat pada asas tahunan dengan kenaikan sebanyak 4.9% pada bulan Mac 2012.

Berbanding Februari 2012, output pelarasan musim bagi sektor Elektrik menurun sebanyak 6.0%.

Indeks Pengeluaran Perindustrian Malaysia bagi suku pertama tahun 2012 meningkat sebanyak 2.9%

Indeks Pengeluaran Perindustrian Malaysia bagi suku pertama tahun 2012 meningkat sebanyak 2.9%

berbanding dengan suku yang sama tahun sebelumnya. Peningkatan ini disumbangkan oleh kenaikan indeks

Pembuatan (4.4%) dan Elektrik (6.1%). Walau bagaimanapun indeks Perlombongan mencatatkan penurunan

sebanyak 1.7%.

The Industrial Production Index (IPI) grew 0.6% in March 2012 as compared with the same month of the

The Industrial Production Index (IPI) grew 0.6% in March 2012 as compared with the same month of the

previous year. The increase in March 2012 was due to the rise of Manufacturing and Electricity indices of

2.0% and 4.9% respectively. However, the index of Mining posted a decrease of 4.1%. The IPI in February

2012 has been revised positive8.2% year-on-year.

On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, the IPI in March 2012 contracted by 5.2% which was

attributed by the reduction in all indices: Manufacturing (5.8%); Mining (7.0%) and Electricity (6.0%).

PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING SECTOR

On year-on-year basis, the Manufacturing output in March 2012 registered a growth of 2.0%. Output for

February 2012 rose 10.4% (revised) as compared with the same month 2011. The major sub-sectors reported

increases in Manufacturing output in March 2012 were: Petroleum, Chemical, Rubber and Plastic Products

(4.2%); Non-metallic Mineral Products, Basic Metal and Fabricated Metal Products (8.6%); and Transport

Equipment and Other Manufactures (14.3%). The seasonally adjusted output for March 2012 decreased 5.8%

as comparedto February 2012.

PERFORMANCE OF MINING SECTOR

The output for the Mining sector in March 2012 fell 4.1% in March 2012 as compared with the same month of

2011. This was due to the decrease in crude oil index (6.6%) although natural gas index increased by 0.9%.

As against February 2012, the seasonally adjusted output for the Mining index decreased by 7.0%.

PERFORMANCE OF ELECTRICITY SECTOR

The Electricity output grew on a yearly basis with an expansion of 4.9% in March 2012. Comparing with

February 2012, the seasonally adjusted output for Electricity sector decreasedby 6.0%.

index (4.4%) and Electricity index (6.1%). However , the index of Mining posted a decrease of 1.7%.
