The tester measures the height of the center of gravity and moment of inertia in the directions of pitch, roll and yaw, which are important values that determine a completed vehicle’s performance. In recent years, it has become necessary to display data such as the vehicle’s roll-over performance and behavior during J-turn. These data comprise fundamental values such as the vehicle height of the center of gravity and moment of inertia. However, in the past, only a few specialized tester could provide actual measurement values. The spring-type method for measuring center of gravity includes errors, and it was difficult to conduct precise measurements. This tester enables fast and highly reproducible evaluation by conducting a series of tests on a completed vehicle fixed on a platform. Features Measurement values (measurement rules) The device provides improved precision and excellent reproducibility by increasing to 0.001 o the accuracy of the sensor that measures the swing and pendulum tilt and reducing the friction at the bearing. The raising of the vehicle loading platform and the switching on and off of the roll/yaw unit are controlled by an operation panel, and some of the operations are automated. The tests include automatic calculation of the vehicle loading position, calculation of cycles, offset calculation pf vehicle displacement data, and calculation of the moment of inertia (the target of the tests). The tests are easily carried out by using dedicated software and following determined procedures. The calculation results are displayed and saved as files in a database.
