What They Do

Of the five with Multiple Disabilities two of them work on the Alphabet and three of them work on Phonics. They all work with the same mentor throughout the day. He is a community member and is awesome.

Success Stories of the Phonics Group

• Before working on Phonics with a mentor each student was unable to read their words on their word ring. After working with their mentor they are all able to read all the words on their word ring. The students are creatures of routine and if the words were out of order they were unable to read them. Now they are able to. This is a great accomplishment for all of them.

Success Story of the Alphabet Group

• Before working with a mentor on the Alphabet, the students were only able to recite some of it. They were unable to write it as well. As of now they are able to recite it and are still working very hard on learning to write it. Just being able to recite it has been a huge accomplishment for them.
