A HIGH LEVEL OF INSTRUCTION, BASED ON 25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PILOT TRAINING

Thanks to its 25 years of proven experience in aeronautical training, Cannes Aviation Academy trains and prepares students according to the European highest standards for airline pilot careers. As the only Training Organization (ATO) approved by the DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority) in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Cannes Aviation provides modular and integrated courses since September 2009.

The teaching team is made up of highly skilled instructors, most of them also jet pilots, all devoted to your success. The training philosophy is based on professional and operational aspects of passengers’ Public Transportation rules. It allows to develop experience and autonomy, key factors in today’s aviation.

The all CPL, MEP and IRME trainings take place in the Cannes Aviation premises located on Cannes-Mandelieu Airport. Classrooms and/or briefi ng rooms are equipped

with computers and free Wi-Fi access. Ground courses (long briefi ngs) are taught through multimedia presenta-tions. During your training you have free access to the software and document school library.

The program structure is organized in order that each student can evolve according to its own path. Session after session, you will acquire the basic knowledge and methods to easily progress on Diamond DA42.

A PROFESSIONAL AND WELL-SUITED AERONAUTICAL ENVIRONMENT

Cannes Aviation is located on Cannes-Mandelieu Airport, the second largest business airport after Paris Le Bourget. Our location is ideal for professional pilot training. It allows to apply on every session of training the educational objectives to achieve in a concrete way.

Cannes Mandelieu Airport is equipped with modern infra-structures that can accommodate private aircrafts, busi-ness jets and also helicopters. It has 2 runways oriented 17/35 and 04/22, a control tower, efficient operations staff and a classy business terminal. All major business aviation companies such as Netjets, Global Jet, Jetfl y, Globeair, Vistajet, Globeair, Wijet, AirGo… operate to and from Cannes-Mandelieu.

VFR and IFR approaches and departures are particularly interesting because of Nice airport proximity and its large air traffi c. The area has more than 30 nearby airports:

Aix, Avignon, Gap, Fayence, Vinon, Le Luc, Cuers, Hyères, Le Castellet, Marseille, Bastia, Ajaccio, Calvi, Montpellier, Albenga, Gênes,…

Moreover, you will have te possibility to: Practicing foreign fl ight (Italy) Practicing over-sea crossings (Corsica) Accessing to high precision piloting aerodromes, some

allowing training to crosswind (mountain) Landing on large traffi c international airports (Nice,

Toulon, Marseille) for complex procedures training.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

6

As the result of a long experience in modular trainings, Cannes Aviation Academy program (approved by the DGAC) go beyond the regulatory minimum. Thus you can acquire the all indispensable basis for your success.

If you plan to make 3 trainings in the continuation, we recommend you the following sequence: MEP then IRME and fi nally CPL.

MEP (Multi Engine Piston)This training aims on the multi-engine qualifi cation that you could append on your PPL or CPL license (even ATPL license if you are already airline pilot). It’s a short training, about 7 to 10 days. In addition to DA42 knowledges, you will fl y par on N and N-1 engines sectors. You will also have simulator sessions "to take in hand the machine" and understand the EFIS "Garmin 1000" system. The fl ight test validation lasts 1h to 1h30. If you plan to immediately carry on an IRME training, you better take the MEP test at the same time as the IRME test. The approved program consists at least of: Technical courses: 11.5h FNPT2 Simulator: 2h DA42 fl ight instruction: 6h

IRME (Instrument Rating Multi Engine)It’s a core training which is citical for your pilot career. Actually you will have strong chance to pilot only under these IFR new rules in the future; particularly if you consequently become a professional pilot. The training lasts about 2.5 months. You will have various stages in your learning process: axis changes, wait-ings, procedures and then travels. Practical teachings are mainly done on FNPT2 simulator which is the perfect copy of the DA42. Beforehand, you will have technical courses to learn IFR rules and standards of exploitation. At the end of the training, you will pass a fl ight test for about 2h as to get your IRME and MEP ratings. The approved program consists at least of: Technical courses: 35.5h

FNPT2 Simulator: 40h DA42 fl ight instruction: 15h

For CPL holders, volumes are reduced to 35h of FNPT2 and 10h of DA42.

CPL (Commercial Pilot License)This training aims to reach your fi rst professional license. This will allow you to be captain on less than 5.7 tons MTOW aircrafts in the future; or to be Copilot on heavier aircrafts (subject to get a type rating). The training runs according to VFR rules and those applicable to public transportation. You should manage great rigor combined to good balance between operational constraints and fl ight safety. The training lasts approximately 1.5 month. Flight test is on DA42 and lasts about 2 hours. The approved program for pilots having an IRME on DA42 consists at least of: Technical courses: 19h FNPT2 Simulator: 1h DA40 EFIS fl ight instruction: 5h DA42 fl ight instruction: 10h

For IRME holders not done on DA42, an additional training program will have to be done. It consists of: 3h of technical courses, 5h of FNPT2, 3h of DA40 EFIS and 2h of DA42.In all cases, you should have taken beforehand a MEP training or justify a DA42 differences training.

TESTIMONIALS

90% of young pilots trained at Cannes Aviation Academy are then hired as Copilot or First Officer. Here are some of their testimonials. Find more testimonials on www.cannes-aviation.com

After completing my integrated ATP training at Cannes Aviation, I had my fi rst experience in business aviation as a safety pilot on a Citation Jet and a job as an instructor for the general public on a A320 Sim at AviaSim in Nice. I also applied to

Ryanair for a FO position and was called upon to take the selection tests a few months later. The selections went very well thanks to the quality of my training at Cannes Aviation. I was then retained as a Cadet. After 3 months of intense ground work on a B737 Sim in East Midlands to get my Type Rating then in line training all over Europe (Thessaloniki, Riga, Wroclaw,...), I started as a FO on B737. After 2 years at Ryanair, I moved to a FO position at DHL Airlines on B757/B767. My training at Cannes Aviation Academy has been a solid foundation for my career.Andréas Rucker · First Offi cer B757/B767 · DHL Airlines ·

Choosing your fl ying school is not an easy task and choosing Cannes Aviation is a choice I will make again without hesitation.I was very satisfi ed with the quality of my training as a human-sized school, highly motivated instructors, professional and

individualised training in English, as well as a family team. After obtaining my Licence, I was hired as a co-pilot on the Cessna Mustang by a business aviation company, Globeair. It was during my Type Qualifi cation in Farnborough, England, that I really realized that Cannes Aviation instructors train you to the best standards. "Canav" plusses: the hours on Eclipse 500 at the end of training, the modern fl eet and above all the team always available and motivated!Today, I am a Captain on Mustang at Globeair and I also have a supervisory role as Flight Safety Manager.Léa Thiery · Captain Cessna Mustang · GlobeAir AG ·

An idyllic setting, an exceptional school and my passion for fl ying led me to choose Cannes Aviation. I benefi ted from a per-sonalized training course in English in a family and professional atmosphere with a very modern fl eet of aircraft. Listening

to the students, the team of instructors is competent, dynamic and pedagogical. Having acquired the necessary skills to meet airline requirements, I successfully passed the pilot selections at Ryanair. Currently, I am working as a co-pilot on the B737-800 NG. I fl y all over Europe and even beyond. I sincerely thank Cannes Aviation and will continue to recommend the excellence of their know-how, a concentration of technical and human qualities.Tommy Bastirmaci · First Offi cer B737-800 · Ryanair ·

The choice of Cannes Aviation was made quite naturally. It is a human-sized school, with quality facilities and an ideal geographical location. Seven months after the end of my ATPL training, I was fortunate enough to be invited to selections

for Flydubai. It was a success thanks in particular to the solid knowledge and piloting techniques that I was able to acquire during my training. My QT on Boeing 737NGQT went smoothly and the transition to Jet was facilitated by the safety pilot fl ights I had the chance to fl y on the Eclipse 500 during the IFR phase of the ATP training. Today, I integrated FlyDubai as FO in a B737NG cockpit! We fl y from Dubai to 90 different destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Russia... It's intense, very varied but extremely rewarding.Florian Belin · First Offi cer N737NG · Flydubai ·

The human-size of Cannes Aviation made me immediately feel confortable, but also allowed me to have a very closely monitored curriculum. I thank the whole team for their thoroughness, professionalism and dynamism. A few months after the end of

my course, I passed successfully my fi rst selection, where my level of training and my few hours on Eclipse 500 were greatly appreciated. Today fl ying as a Copilot on a Challenger 600, I realize the incredible opportunity it was to choose this school.

Mehdi Rahimi · Copilote Bombardier Challenger 604/5 · Private Co ·

Originally from the South of France, Cannes Aviation was a wise school choice. Young, dynamic, ideally located, with state-of-the-art fl eet of aircrafts and highly qualifi ed instructors, this school, on a human scale, allowed me to acquire solid

knowledge that I quickly used to pass without diffi culties Ryanair selections and my Type Rating on Boeing 737NG. It is with great pleasure that I return to Cannes Aviation, tell my story and answer the questions of the new trainee pilots.Today I am First Offi cer at Ryanair based in the Canary Islands and for destinations all over Europe and I am the happiest of the pilots. A big thank you to the whole team for motivating, advising and accompanying me until my arrival in company.Pierre-Louis Riccio · First Offi cer B737NG · Ryanair ·

When you decide to start an integrated ATPL, we all ask ourselves the same question: Where to go to get the best chances of success! Well, with now a year and a half back, I absolutely do not regret having stopped my choice on Cannes Aviation.

A complete training in English (critical today!), a fl eet at the forefront of technology, the unique opportunity to be able to fl y on Jet, an unparalleled aeronautical environment (mountain, international airports, fl ights abroad, wonderful weather condi-tions,…), and a pedagogical team always available and listening. This magical cocktail allowed me to get a copilot position at Flybe on Dash 8 Q400 just six months after ending my ATPL curriculum in June 2015. I then moved to a FO position on B737-800 NG at Ryanair and am based in Brussels. A big thank you to the "CanAv" team for these two years spent with you and making my dream become my life.Nicolas Gresle · First Offi cer B737-800 NG · Ryanair ·
