Page 2: Modern Western Music

The 20th century music consists of many genres that

has different characteristics such as pop, rock and roll, grunge,

country and many more. Each genre has its own symbolic

meaning, just like how country music has a story behind their

songs.

A musical revolution occurred in the 20th century when

music gained popularity through the radio worldwide. New

media and technology were developed to record, capture,

reproduce and distribute music. Music became vaster because

they were no longer limited to concerts and clubs, giving the

audience a wider range of different music genres.
