Trans-Mississippi Issue Bi-color Die Essays285-E8-293-E7 Trans-Mississippi bi-color die essaysComplete set of nine, pulled on India paper and still affixed to the original card blotters which are (6 1/8” wide by about 5” tall). These was pulled directly onto the India paper and die sunk on card, except for the $2.00 which is a hybrid. The colors are as fresh as the day they were pulled. Of the 216 sets produced only the first 50, produced on January 23, 1899, do not contain any hybrids. This is far and away the most popular 19th century set of essays. This is an exceptional set. Sets of this caliber are infrequently offered. (EP94-10) $5,000.00
