If You Turn the TV Off by Mistake

TV Signals and Picture FormatsThisisawidescreenTV,alsoknownasa16:9TV.ThisshapereflectsthenewtypesofpictureformatsavailablefromHDTVandmanyDVDs.Therearestillmanyolderstylenarrow-screenpictureformats(forexample,4:3aspectratio)youwillencounter.Whilethereisnoperfectsolutionfordisplayingasquarish,narrowerimageonawidescreen,Mitsubishioffersseveralpictureformatsfromwhichyoucanchoose.

Mitsubishi LCD Rear Projection Television Limited Warranty

MITSUBISHI DIGITAL ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC. (“MDEA”) warrants as follows to the original purchaser of this television from an authorized MITSUBISHI Audio/Video Dealer, should it prove defective by reason of against defects arising from improper workmanship and/or material:

a. Parts.Thelenticular(i.e.frontpicture)screeniswarrantedagainstdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipforaperiodofthirty(30)daysfromthedateoftheoriginalpurchaseatretail.Thelampcartridgeandallotherparts(exceptanysoftwareincorporatedintothistelevision)arewarrantedforaperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateoftheoriginalpurchaseatretail.Wewillrepairorreplace,atouroption,anydefectivepartwithoutchargeforthepart.Partsusedforreplacementmaybereplacedwiththoseoflikekindandqualityandmaybeneworremanufactured.Partsusedforreplacementarewarrantedfortheremainderoftheoriginalwarrantyperiod.

b. Embedded Software. MDEAwarrantsthatallsoftwareincorporatedintothistelevisionset(the“EmbeddedSoftware”)willperforminaccordancewiththefunctionaldescriptionofEmbeddedSoftwareinallmaterialrespects,butMDEAdoesnotwarrantthattheEmbeddedSoftwareiserror-free.MDEAalsodoesnotwarrantthattheEmbeddedSoftwarewillbecompatibleunderIEEE1394AV/CandHAVisoftwarestandardswithproductsproducedbyanyothermanufacturer.Thelimitedwarrantycontainedinthissectionshallcontinueforaperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateoftheoriginalpurchaseatretail.If,afterpromptnoticewithinthewarrantyperiod,MDEAdeterminesthattheEmbeddedSoftwarehasfailedtoperforminaccordancewithsuchfunctionaldescriptioninallmaterialrespectsandifsuchfailureisnotduetoaccident,misuse,modificationormisapplicationoftheEmbeddedSoftware,thenMDEAshallmodifyorreplacethenonconformingEmbeddedSoftwareatnochargetoyou,whichatMDEA’ssolediscretionmaybefulfilledbymeansofmodificationorreplacementsoftwarecontainedonareplacementmemorycardforCustomerinstallation.TheforegoingshallbeMDEA’ssoleobligationtoyouunderthislimitedwarranty.AllrightsunderthislimitedwarrantyontheEmbeddedSoftwarearealsosubjecttoyouracceptanceofandcompliancewiththetermsoftheSoftwareLicenseAgreementapplicabletothistelevision,andthislimitedwarrantyontheEmbeddedSoftwareshallbenullandvoidiftheEmbeddedSoftwareismodifiedorchangedinanymannerexceptasspecificallyauthorizedbyMDEA.

c. Labor. Forthirty(30)daysaftertheoriginalpurchaseatretail,wewillrepairorreplace,atouroption,thelenticularscreenifitprovesdefective.Forcertainitemsthataredesignedtobereplacedbytheconsumer,including(butnotlimitedto)someEmbeddedSoftware,theconsumerissolelyresponsibleforanyreplacementlabor.Airfiltercleaningisnormalconsumerrequiredmaintenanceandlaborforthisprocedureisnotcoveredunderwarranty.PleaserefertotheOwner’sGuideforairfiltercleaningprocedures.Forallotherparts,wewillprovidethelaborforawarrantyrepairbyanauthorizedMITSUBISHIservicecenterwithoutchargeforone(1)yearfromtheoriginaldateofpurchaseatretail.

d. Notice. Toobtainwarrantyservice,youmustnotifyanauthorizedMITSUBISHIservicecenterofanydefectwithintheapplicablewarrantytimeperiod.

e. ThisLCDRearProjectionTVusesthreeLCDpanelstocreatethescreenimage.Thistechnologycreatestheimageusingsmalldots,orpictureelements(pixels).YourCDRearProjectionTVismanufacturedtoahighlevelofperformanceandquality,infact,99.99%perfectinthenumberofproperlyfunctioningpixels.Asinotherdisplaytechnology,sometimesapixeliscontinuouslyactive,inactiveortheincorrectcolor.Ourstandardisclear;MDEAwarrantsonlythatthepercentageofproperlyfunctioningpixelswillbenotlessthan99.99%ofallpixels.

BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE, please review the instruction booklet to insure proper installation and correct customer control adjustment. If the problem persists please arrange for warranty service.

1.TOOBTAINWARRANTYSERVICE:

a.ContactyournearestauthorizedMITSUBISHIservicecenter,whosenameandaddresscanbeobtainedfromyourMITSUBISHIdealer,bywritingattheaddressprovidedbelow,callingMDEAatthe800-332-2119,orbyusingthesupportfeatureofourwebsitesiteatwww.Mitsubishi-tv.com.

b.Warrantyservicewillbeprovidedinyourhomeor, ifrequired,atanauthorizedserviceshop,providedthatyourtelevisionislocatedwithinthegeographicterritorycustomarilycoveredbyanauthorizedMITSUBISHIservicecenter.Ifnot,youmusteitherdeliveryourtelevisiontoanauthorizedservicelocationatyourownexpense,orpayforanytraveland/ortransportationcoststheservicecentermaychargetoandfromyourhome.Actualservicelaborwillbeprovidedwithoutcharge.

c.ProofofpurchasedatefromanauthorizedMITSUBISHIdealerisrequiredwhenrequestingwarrantyservice.Presentyoursalesreceiptorotherdocumentwhichestablishesproofanddateofpurchase.THERETURNOFTHEOWNERREGISTRATIONCARDISNOTACONDITIONOFCOVERAGEUNDERTHISLIMITEDWARRANTY.However,pleasereturntheOwnerRegistrationCardsothatwecancontactyoushouldaquestionofsafetyarisewhichcouldaffectyou.

d. To obtain a replacement lamp cartridge during the warranty period, please contact the MDEA Consumer Relations Department at (800) 332-2119. After the warranty period you may order the lamp cartridge directly from the MDEA Parts Department at (800) 553-7278.

2.THISLIMITEDWARRANTYDOESNOTCOVER:

a.Upto.01%pixeloutages(smalldotpictureelementsthataredarkorincorrectlyilluminated).

b.Damage to the lenticular screenor Fresnel lens, screen frame, cosmetic damageor to any other damagewhere suchdamage is causedbyunauthorizedmodification,alteration,repairstoorserviceoftheproductbyanyoneotherthananauthorizedMITSUBISHIservicecenter;physicalabusetoormisuseoftheproduct(includinganyfailuretocarryoutanymaintenanceasdescribedintheOwner’sGuideincludingairfiltercleaningoranyproductdamagedbyexcessivephysicalorelectricalstress);anyproductsthathavehadaserialnumberoranypartthereofaltered,defacedorremoved;productuseinanymannercontrarytotheOwner’sGuide;freightdamage;oranydamagecausedbyactsofGodorotherfactorsbeyondthereasonablecontrolofMDEA,suchaspowersurgedamagecausedbyelectricalsystemorlightning.

This limitedwarranty also excludes service calls where no defect in the product covered under thiswarranty is found, service calls related tounsatisfactoryaudioorvisual receptionorsignalunlesscausedbyadefect in theproduct that iscoveredunder this limitedwarranty,allcosts,expensesoranyotherdamagesarisingfromproductinstallation,orset-ups,anyadjustmentsofusercontrols(includingcontrast,brightness,color,tint,finetuning,sharpness),otheradjustmentnecessarytopreparetheunitfordisplayoruse,connectionwithanyexternalaudioreceiver,antenna,cableorsatellitesystems,orserviceofproductspurchasedorservicedoutsidetheU.S.A.PleaseconsulttheoperatinginstructionscontainedintheOwner’sGuidefurnishedwiththeproductforinformationregardingusercontrols.

4. UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCESSHALLMDEABE LIABLE TOPURCHASERORANYOTHERPERSON FORANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIALORCONSEQUENTIALDAMAGES,WHETHERARISINGOUTOFBREACHOFWARRANTY,BREACHOFCONTRACT,OROTHERWISE.

5.Somestatesdonotallowlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,ortheexclusionorlimitationofincidental,special,orconsequentialdamages,sotheabovelimitationsorexclusionsmaynotapplytoyou.

6.Thislimitedwarrantygivesyouspecificlegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherrightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.
