ABOUT MIETModel Institute of Engineering and technology abbreviated as

MIET was established in the year 1998 at Jammu, India as a part of the MIER Group of Institutions established in 1936, the oldest private educational enterprise in the State of J&K.

The institute is affiliated to AICTE and University of Jammu. Being a foremost technical institute, it offers masters, graduate and undergraduate degrees in management, computer applications and engineering.

MIET is endorsed by the National Assessment and accreditation

council (NAAC) and there are some other departments of computer science, and department of Electronics and communication are authorized by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

MIET is J&K’s first ISO 9001-2008 Certified institution.

RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS AND PATENTS

MIET has published over 250 research papers on many trending topics of technology as well as management studies in various national and inter-national journals and presented in different national and international conferences in a very short span of time.

MIET has also filed about 12 patents based on the recent technology of Social, Mobility, Analytics and Cloud with full involvement of students as well.

WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS AND GUEST LECTURES

Frequent workshops are conducted in MIET on different technologies like Robotics, Mobile application development, web development, image processing etc to infuse cutting edge hands on experience among students.

Seminars and presentations on current technologies like Cloud computing, analytics, big data, network security etc are also organized to enlighten the students.

Guest lectures on personality development, communication skills, art of interview, latest technologies etc by industry professionals are also made available to the students time to time.

INTERNAL ASSOCIATIONS AND EXTERNAL COLLABORATIONS

To Build up student networking and enhance their working skills as well as to provide them exposure through value-added entities, MIET has many internal communities and external Tie-ups.

Internally, MIET has IEEE Student Chapter, ISTE Student Chapter, IETE Student Branch, Literary Club, Technical Club CRIE(Centre of Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship) as mobile app development center and many more.

Externally, MIET has tie up with IBM, EMC, Aircel, Nokia HERE and many other leading technological giants. MIET is the only private institution in J&K having a Cisco networking training and certification center within campus. Moreover, to offer MS program to aspiring students, MIET has also signed MoU with UMKC,US.
