What is MobileLWP?MobileLWP is Crystal Ball’s award winning lone worker protection app that monitors the welfare of employees working independently in remote locations, or anywhere there may be a perceived risk to personal safety.

Accredited with British Standard 8484, MobileLWP diff ers from other lone worker protection solutions - fi rstly, because it continually monitors staff welfare in real-time, and secondly, because there is no need to carry an additional or dedicated lone worker protection device, such as lanyards.

The app uses automated routine welfare check-in time periods (RWCs), which are controlled by the lone worker and report back to Crystal Ball’s admin portal. Should a RWC expire on the handset and the lone worker does notrespond, the handset activates a panic alarm automatically - notifying supervisors, management and designated administrators via the admin portal.

Panic alarms can also be activated by the lone worker manually via the handset. This can be done discretely in an emergency, even if the handset’s screen is locked,via the handsets hot-key. Administrators can monitor a dispersed workforce via

MobileLWP’s mapping, with colour coded icons for easy welfare status recognition.

It is a legal requirement enforced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for employers to have a Duty of Care to their employees. Legislation such as The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 outline that if an employer fails to have suitable measures in place resulting in the death of an employee, an organisation can face severe fi nes.From an employer’s perspective, implementation of MobileLWP off ers assistance with Health & Safety policies, as all activity on the handset and the admin portal is logged in event reports - this could then be used to form an integral part of an organisations Health & Safety policy.

Email & SMS Notifi cationsPanic alarms automatically trigger email/text alerts to designated recipients, detailing the lone worker’s current location.

NFC FunctionalityUsing MobileNFC, lone workers can check in/out of designated locations notifying administrators of their arrival/departure and time at location. MobileNFC can also be used to automatically initiate RWC’s.

Open Audio FacilityIf a panic alarm is activated a presassigned number will be automatically dialled allowing an administrator to discreetly listen to the situation.
