mobile material production - toppesfield · and cost effective alternative to traditional asphalt...
TRANSCRIPT
Using our own mobile asphalt plants, and managing
the entire process from production to laying, we
continue to develop a range of recycled, sustainable
and economical asphalt and pavement alternatives.
Mobile material production
Cement Bound Granular Mixtures
Cement Bound Granular Mixtures (CBGM), also
referred to as CBM and HBM, uses recycled
aggregates, crushed concrete, processed planing
and incinerator bottom ash, and is a sustainable
and cost effective alternative to traditional asphalt
materials, specifically HDM and DMB 40/60. It is a
structural element in the pavement, increasing the
strength of the foundation which reduces the
thickness of asphalt required, increasing the
design life of the pavement. Using our mobile
plant we can produce over 220 tonnes per hour in
close proximity to sites, affording better control
over application and deliveries, reducing CO2
emission through less lorry movement.
Applications:
• Motorways
• Trunk roads
• Rural roads
• Ports
• Block paving works
Roller Compacted Concrete
Like CBGM, Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) is
used as a robust structural element. The material
uses high quality aggregates and smaller stones
in comparison, but is the equivalent of Pavement
Quality Continuously Reinforced Concrete
Pavement. Resistant to heavy loads, extreme
temperatures and rutting, and requiring only
80mm of asphalt to prevent cracking, RCC is
easier to maintain than conventional concrete
products, faster to lay and cheaper to make.
Applications:
• Heavily trafficked roads
• Industry estates
• Ports
• Military applications
• Airfields
ToppFoam
ToppFoam is an effective and economical foamed
bitumen asphalt that incorporates recycled
aggregates. It can be used as a sustainable
alternative to traditional asphalt base and binder
course materials, saving both time and labour
costs. Available in two grades, Structural and
Storage, ToppFoam is formulated to meet the
requirements of the specification for Highways
Works Clause 948. The Environment Agency
recognises technology like ToppFoam as a
stabilising technology for hazardous materials,
specifically asphalt waste containing coal tar.
Applications:
• Motorways
• Trunk roads
• Primary highway networks
• Airfields
• Footpaths and cycle paths
• Rural roads
• Warehouses/car parks
• Emergency repair
• Manufactured from recycled
material
• Minimises waste
• Reduced costs
• Minimises environmental impact
• Aids sustainability
• Sustainable alternatives to
conventional asphalt
