MOA between DepED and COMELEC

The MOA provides for the following:

To protect and promote the welfare of teachers, principals, supervisors, superintendent and other employees of DepEd who will serve during the May 13, 2013 automated National and Local Elections, COMELEC will pay the following:

SALIENT PROVISIONS OF THE MOA/MOU

For public school teachers who will serve as chairmen or members of the BEI:

THREE THOUSAND PESOS (Php3,000.00) as honorarium for serving as BEI chairmen and members;

FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (Php500.00) – for the final testing and sealing of the PCOS machines;

FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (Php500.00) – one-time transportation allowance.

For public school teachers, principals or supervisors who will serve as Supervisors for ten (10) clustered precincts or fraction thereof-

THREE THOUSAND PESOS (Php3,000. 00) per person 

For those who will act as support staff of the said Supervisors mentioned in the preceding paragraph

ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (Php1,500.00) per member of the support staff;

For supervisors or superintendents who will serve as members of the City or Municipal, District Provincial or Regional Board of Canvassers

FIVE THOUSAND PESOS (Php5,000.00) per member.

COMELEC shall allocate and provide the amount of THIRTY MILLION PESOS (P30,000,000.00) for election-related death or injuries that may be sustained by DepEd employees in the performance of election duties; provided that in case of death while in the performance of election duties, the heirs of the deceased official/employee shall be given the amount of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS (Php 200,000.00)

 

The MOU provides for the following obligations

1.To provide the PNP and AFP a complete set of directory/contact information of all regional and division offices of the Department of Education

2.To coordinate with PNP and AFP National Headquarters and Provincial Headquarters to closely work with the various DepEd Regional Offices and Division Offices.
