A charismatic and versatile pianist, Dr. Jasmin Arakawa has performed widely in North America, Central and South America, Europe, and Japan, including prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Salle Gaveau (Paris), and Victoria Hall (Geneva). She has appeared as concerto soloist with the Philips Symphony Orchestra in Amsterdam, and with the Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra in Brazil. She has recorded solo and chamber works by Spanish and Latin American composers on LAMC Records under the sponsorship of the Spanish Embassy as a prizewinner at the Latin American Music Competition. Dr. Arakawa is Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of South Alabama, where she teaches applied piano, accompanying, and directs the piano ensemble. Born in Japan, she is a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, and holds Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Emile Naoumoff, the last protégé of Nadia Boulanger.

Cain Budds received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in classical guitar performance at Arizona State University. Dr. Budds is currently Assistant Professor of Guitar and Music Theory as well as Head of the String Area at Louisiana Tech University where he heads a vibrant guitar studio. He has performed numerous solo and chamber recitals in the U.S. and Mexico and in Master Classes with outstanding performers including Eliot Fisk, William Kanengiser, Margarita Escarpa, Kevin Gallagher, Stephen Robinson, and Pepe Romero. Budds has appeared as soloist with the Laredo Philharmonic performing contemporary works such as Folias by Puerto Rican composer Roberto Sierra and Arafura Dances by Australian composer Ross Edwards. Most recently he appeared as soloist with Moscow's Chamber Orchestra Kremlin performing Mauro Giuliani's Quinetto, Op. 65 for guitar and string orchestra. Currently, Dr. Budds lives in Ruston, LA with his wife Monique, their four children, and a rather large and rambunctious dog named Sally.

Flutist Brian Dunbar-Kastella is a native of St. Augustine, FL. Brian is currently a Doctoral student at Louisiana State University and Professor of Woodwinds at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. He holds degrees from Stetson University and the University of Michigan. His teachers include Susan McQuinn, Amy Porter, and Katherine Kemler.

Jonathan Gerhardt, principal cello, has been a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra since 1995. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, he grew up in a musical family and began taking cello lessons from his mother at the age of ten. Gerhardt received his Bachelor of Music degree and Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and his Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. His primary teachers include Paul Katz, and Colin Carr. Jonathan has been a member of the Honolulu Symphony, Naples Philharmonic, and the Dayton Philharmonic. During the summers, he has participated in the Aspen, Banff, Spoleto and Colorado Music Festivals. He is on the faculty of Tulane University and a member of the Tulane Piano Trio. Jonathan and his partner Richard Woehrle live Uptown with their two cats Penny and Spike.
