Minneapolis Marathon Course Write up(Runners on left side of road where there is two way running traffic)

• Start at The Depot in Minneapolis and head southeast on 2nd St to 11th Ave S (~0.5 mi)• Turn left on 11th Ave S and go to W River Pkwy (~0.1 mi)• Turn left and continue on W River Pkwy to Broadway (~1.7 mi)• Turn right on Broadway, crossing the river, and go to Marshal St NE (~0.5 mi)• Turn right on Marshall St NE and continue—Marshall St NE becomes Main St NE—to 6th Ave SE. (~1.3 mi)• Continue on Main St. to 6th Ave SE. • Turn right at 6th Ave SE and take it to the Stone arch bridge. Cross the river on the Stone Arch Bridge and

proceed to W River Pkwy. (~0.5 mi)• At the second place where the paved Fort Snelling Trail crosses County Rd. 48 before you reach the E. 54th Street

intersection turn left and begin long gradual downhill on trail towards Snelling Lake. At the bottom of the hill follow the trail to the right across a parking lot and towards the lake to begin the loop around Snelling Lake. The path will take you to the farthest point of the turnaround loop. (~3.5 mi)

• At the southernmost part of the loop you will turn west along the path and come to Snelling Lake Road. Continue on trail across Snelling lake road to the gravel trail which brings you back to the short steep uphill and the Fort Snelling Historical site. (~1.7 mi)

• From Fort Snelling Historical site the route goes through the parking lot along right edge of road (~.9 mi). • Take the paved path on the right before reaching frontage road at the end of the parking lot exit road. • Follow the paved path until it ends and turns onto Minnehaha Ave. and continues north until the E. 54th St.

intersection (~1.1 mi)• Continue north on Minnehaha Ave. until you reach the round-about and turn right onto Godfrey Rd. (~1.3 mi)• Turn right on Godfrey and continue on as it turns into West River Pkwy. West River Pkwy then continues to the

finish at Gold Medal Park. (~6.1 mi)
