Surface Mount Motion SensorInstruction Manual and Guarantee

Read this entire manualbefore you start to install the system. The 360° Surface Mount

Motion Sensor uses a passiveinfrared sensor which reactsto changes in temperatureemitted by the motion ofpersons or objects passingthrough its detecting area. When you enter the room, itturns on automatically the lightto which it is connected andthe light remains lit as long asthe sensor detects any activityin the room. It however willautomatically turn off the lightafter the preset turn-off time is expired. During the day,the built-in photocell sensorsaves electricity bydeactivating the light.

● Be sure to switch off powersource before installing.

● Make sure that the powerwiring comes from circuitwith an external 16Aminiature circuit breaker forthe short circuit protection ora suitable fuse.

● The unit cannot be installedon the wall. (Figure 1).

● The installation of thisdevice should be made by aqualified electrician.

(Figure 1)

● Avoid aiming the motionsensor at heating vents, airconditioners or objects, which may changetemperature rapidly.

● Do not install in bathrooms /shower rooms.

● Prior to mounting the lightfixture, remember to positionthe motion sensor so that amoving object cuts “across”

“N” mark is to be connectedto any light fixture you have.(Figures 4a and 4b).

4. The sensor can be installedto a ceiling mounting box ordirectly to the ceiling - makea small hole in the ceilingfor the cable to pass throughand fix the sensor in positionwith the screws and plugssupplied. (Figure 5).

(Figure 5)

Test Mode:

● Turn the Lux control and theTime control counter-clockwise to the edge-theTEST position. (Figure 6).

(Figure 6)

● Turn the isolation switch on, the light will turn onimmediately and then needsto warm-up for about 1 minute before it turns off.

● Walk through the coveragearea. The light will turn onfor about 5 seconds whenmotion is detected and turn

off shortly after motionstops. Wait for the light toturn off before moving again to test the sensor.

1. Time Adjustment:

The TIME adjustmentcontrols how long the lightwill stay on after motion hasbeen detected.

(Figure 7)

Adjust the TIME ControlKnob clockwise to increasethe turn-off time (40 minutes

maximum) or counter-clockwise to decrease the turn-off time (5 secondsminimum). (Figure 7).

2. LUX Adjustment:

The LUX adjustmentdetermines at what lightlevel the lighting system will start operating.

Provisionally turn the LUXControl Knob to the edgeclockwise at the moon(dusk) position. (Figure 8).

(Figure 8)

Note: T means that thelight will always switch onregardless of light levels inthe area.

Wait until the ambient lightlevel reaches the level ofdarkness at which you wish to turn the lights on.Slowly rotate the knobanticlockwise until the lightturns on.

At this position the unitshould become operativeat approximately the samelevel of darkness eachevening. Observe theoperation.

If the unit starts to operatetoo early, adjust the knobslightly clockwise. If theunit operates too late (i.e.dusk), adjust the controlknob slightly anti-clockwise.Vacate the area for thetime setting that was set toallow the PIR to adjust tothe new light setting.

The light turns on for thetime set when you move in

the area and turns offwhen you vacate the area.Wait for the light to turn offbefore moving again to testthe sensor.

When the sensor detectsmotion, the light automaticallyturns on. The built-in photocellturns the sensor off and onaccording to the light levelselected by the LUXadjustment.

Light does not turn on

1. Confirm that you havemade a correct “wiringconnection”.

2. Make sure that the bulbshave not burned out.

Light remains on

1. Make sure the wiringconnection is correct.

2. Check if the TIMEsetting is correct.
