Read the entire lab sheet before continuing with this virtual lab so that you will be familiar with the procedures and concepts used. The following slides take you step-by-step through the procedure.

You should develop a step-by-step procedure that anyone could follow that will separate a mixture of salt, sand, iron filings, and poppy seeds. This mixture is shown below.

Be sure to list the steps clearly for your procedure in a numbered list. You will need to use the knowledge you gained in step one of the lab to figure out a way for the mixture to be separated.

The following slides show the mixture being separated using lab techniques from step 1. The pictures are not labeled and are provided to guide your thoughts as you write your procedure.
