Some Facts about India..

1 out of 3 people in India don’t have access to electricity and use kerosene

lanterns to light there homes.

Second largest deaths in Rural India are due to burns from Kerosene

lanterns. Falling and leaking of lights catch fire while lighting the lamps in the

dark after a refill of kerosene. Millions of homes get burnt every year due to

this.

Inhalation of fumes from kerosene cause severe damage to the respiratory

organs, nervous system, cardiac disorders, skin disorders, Gastro-

intestinal disorders etc.

Kerosene sells in black in rural India and the poorest person pays the

highest price for lighting his/her house.

Benefits of Mitva Lanterns

Cost Saving: Our lanterns can completely eliminate the need for kerosene lanterns in

households. The cost savings for customers can be significant, as families may spend 10

to 25 percent of their monthly income on kerosene oil. For a typical farmer or

shopkeeper, Mitva products will pay for themselves in as few as two months, meaning

customers will save money every week for years to come.

Income generation: The bright and reliable light from our products supports

income-generating activities such as farming and retail. A United Nations Development

Program study demonstrates that household businesses with improved lighting have up to

a 30 percent increase in income due to increased productivity at night. Mitva customers

Healthy and safe homes: Kerosene lamps are a key contributor to indoor air

pollution, which causes disastrous health effects (tuberculosis, cancer.etc) Kerosene

also causes diminished eyesight and visual health. Mitva lanterns are extremely safe & use

kerosene lanterns hinder the ability of children to study effectively. Mitva lanterns are
