concrete block. There is quoining at the corners where the concrete block and brick meet. It has six windows arranged in groups ofthree, also with the decorative metal awnings. The fourth structure is one-story and has two doors and six windows. The tow endwindows and the doorways have the metal awnings. The doors are recessed and the doors are doubled and glass. The fifth structureis more of an addition with three windows, two under the metal awnings. The brick is darker in this structure. Overall the buildingcreates an L shape framing the parking lot.

Old Lorimer School 031 Cape Girardeau 401 Independence Street.

The central main-section is side gabled and comprised of six bays, The bay's, going east to west: The east bay has a front doorwaywith sidelites, transom, and decorative pilasters. The next bay has a six over six double hung window. The next three bays have threepart windows consisting of a twelve over twelve double hung window in the centerwith a nine over nine double hung window oneither side. The sixth bay in the most western part of the central section is comprised of a doorway similar to the doorway in the firstbay. The second floor has two nine over nine double hung side by side windows directly over both the east and west doorway. Thewindows have decorative stone casing that are similar in design to the stone pilasters around the first floor doorways. There arearched transoms above these windows that have been covered over with wooden panels The remaining bays on the second floor areall similar to the windows that are below them on the first floor. The third, west, section is two story's tall with brickquoining on thecorners and has a front gable. The section extends forward of the center section by about fourteen feet. In the centerof the first flooris an octagonal (five sides showing) bay section with a doorway consisting of double doors and a large rose petal segmented archedtransom window above the doorway. The east and west sections of the bay have narrow two over two double hung windows. This bayextends forward of the front of the main part of the west section by about four feet. The copper bellcast roof of the bay section ishipped. There is a small segmented, circular window centered in the second floor. It should be noted that except for the westernsection all of the windows have transoms that have been boarded over with wood panels.
