Various building codes such as Americans with Disabiliti esAct. s ety, elec tri cal, hazardous wa ste and plumbing were used inth e de sign.The building was designed and built to ha ve fun ctional andadequate testin g areas as well as ro om for future ex pansion.

The new Central Laboratory is an integrated facility used tocondu ct research and for chemical and ph ys ical testing and evalu a-tion of material s used in building and maintaining Mi ssouri trans-portation system . Operations in the Centra l Laboratory are dedi -cated to qualit y assurance of material s testing, geotechni cal servicesand research developm ent and techn ology.
