Greetings MO-ARK District Board,

Love is in the air this month! February is here which means not only should we be showing our love for service, but it also means that our terms on the 2013-2014 Executive Board are almost over.

As you begin to wrap things up in your Divisions, its important to make sure that you maintain contact with clubs. Transitioning into the new Key Club year is equally as important as the rest of our duties. Also, make sure your clubs are signing up for DLC!

If you have any questions about running for an Executive Office, feel free to ask me any questions!

Running for Executive Office

Are you interested in running for an Executive position for the 2014-2015 Missouri-Arkansas Key Club District Board? Here are a few

things you need to know:

MO-ARK Treasurer|February 2014

GOVERNOR: The governor provides guidance and leadership to the entire district, district officers, and committee chairpersons. The governor is responsible for effective communication and training responsibilities. The governor represents Mo-Ark Key Club at Kiwanis Family events. SECRETARY: The secretary is charged with keeping records, being organized, and helping clubs meet deadlines and follow Key Club standards for paperwork and newsletters. TREASURER: The treasurer is tasked with keeping track of accurate records of LTG budgets and ensuring that Key Clubs are paying dues in a timely manner. BULLETIN EDITOR: The Key Way editor creates the Key Ways using graphic standards and publishing on time.

Tips For Running for Office: 1. Be Enthusiastic- You have to sell

your leadership skills to the audience! Be happy and

enthusiastic2. Prepare Your Speeches- In

order to sound natural, prepare your speeches. Don’t just read off

of a piece of paper. 3. Be unique- Discuss specific goals you would have as a District Officer. Don’t just discuss your credentials.

Say what you would do to CHANGE things!

As you plan your fall rallys, keep in mind how much of your LTG budget you plan on using and keep all receipts. Don’t be afraid to use your money.

March of Dimes

March 4 Babies

March of Dimes is one of Key Club International’s oldest service partners. “March for Babies” is one of the most popular service

events across America. Encourage your clubs to start their service year off with this project!

MO-ARK Treasurer|February 2014

What It Is: March for Babies is the March of

Dimes annual walking event. March of Dimes raises money to help moms have full-term, healthy

pregnancies through research and services.

How To Get Involved: Find a walking event near your town

by visiting the March of Dimes website. Sign your Key Club up as a team and raise money at your school

through a “signature” event or through other means of fundraising.

Even if a walk is not around your area, a good idea would be to fundraise.

March of Dimes is a great Divisional project!

Visit http://www.marchforbabies.org/for more information on

how to get involved!
