Our MissionCSS Academy Programs are offered by Community Support Services (CSS), Inc., a private, not-for- profit service agency that initiates, provides and promotes services for people with intellectual/ developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families, within their communities, in order to strengthen their independence, self-esteem, and ability to participate in and contribute to community life.
We provide Classes, Workshops and Special Field Trips for people with I/DD, their families & caregivers; as well as those without an I/DD who want to learn something new.
• Some classes, for people of all abilities, provide a fun and progressive community learning environment.
• Appropriate CSS professional staffing provides people with I/DD the right support to be successful.
• Programming is available in English and Spanish with daytime, evening and weekend classes.
• Programming is offered at three convenient locations: Brookfield, Cicero, Oak Park.

CSS WorkshopsTwo types of Workshops are offered at multiple CSS locations: Family Support and Employment Readiness.CSS Family Support Workshops strengthen the family unit. Sample Family Support Workshops include:

CSS Employment Readiness Workshops help individuals with I/DD explore employment possibilities and build individual skills in navigating the job application process, interviewing and work etiquette.
CSS Field TripsWe organize and appropriately staff Field Trips from multiple CSS locations for additional learning and socialization opportunities for people with I/DD.
