Pennies From Heaven Today, October 2, 2011 is Pennies From Heaven Sunday. The Respect Life Ministry will be accepting the baby bottles with your donations to Pennies From Heaven after today’s Sunday Morning Masses 7:30, 9, 11 and the 1pm Spanish Mass. The "Pennies from Heaven" donations help Pro Life Groups in Orange County includ-ing Birth Choice and Toby's House. Come! Take a journey through the Hebrew Scriptures with Fr. Tim Peters, STL. Our goal is to walk through the major theological themes of in Old Testament. This class is for beginners as well as advanced students of scriptures. Students will learn the following:

related to their composition. The relationship between the Old and the New Testaments. A Catholic approach to reading Scripture Important verse that every Catholic should know.

Handiworks for the Homeless A ministry for knitting or crocheting scarves and or hats for the homeless of our area is now being formed. The ministry will start this winter and the completed items will be collected and distributed here at our Parish. MENSAJE DE LA SEMANA Los seguidores de Jesús nos volvemos a reunir, porque nos im-porta lo que Él nos propone, la causa que Él lleva adelante. De ahí que su Palabra es Buena Noticia para la Comunidad Cristia-na, para todos nosotros. La necesidad de dar buenos frutos es, una y otra vez, la llamada que el Señor dirige a todos los suyos, porque, aunque lo intentamos de verdad, nunca acabamos de conseguirlo, y somos como la vid, que en lugar de dar uvas, damos agrazones; o que en lugar de ayudar y cargar las cruces de los demás, ponemos otras sobre sus hombros; o que en lugar de defender la justicia y lo que es noble, nos conformamos con pasar inadvertidos. El mundo, la Iglesia, las parroquias… lo que necesitan no son “los cumplidores”, sino los testigos; no los “muy católicos”, sino los que son un poco más practicantes. La diversas Comunidades cristianas han iniciado o están iniciándose en las actividades catequéticas 2011-2012 y reciben del Señor el encargo de trabajar en su viña, para dar fruto abundante. Eso sí: sabiendo que el mismo Jesús camina con nosotros. Es necesario comenzar esta etapa con ilusión, gozo y generosidad. Que la celebración de este domingo, centre nuestra vida y compromiso evangelizador. ¡Dichosos quienes sienta la llamada a trabajar en la viña, porque serán generosamente recompensados!

Programa para Preadolescentes: The EDGE - 6to – 8vo Grados El programa The EDGE es un ministerio Católico para estudiantes en la escuela intermedia, jóvenes adolescentes en los grados sexto, séptimo y octavo. The EDGE está diseñado para satisfacer las necesidades educativas, espirituales, emo-cionales y sociales del joven adolescente. Objetivos de The Edge: Alentar a una experiencia de transformación espiritual con Jesús a través

de la liturgia, permitiendo a los jóvenes adolescentes tener una experiencia profunda con la Palabra de Dios y la Eucaristía.

Crear una experiencia positiva de la Iglesia Católica para los jóvenes adolescentes. Ayudar a la juventud de la escuela intermedia a obtener un entendimiento y apreciación de lo que la

Iglesia Católica enseña como creencias. Incorporar la visión de la Iglesia Católica, de justicia social y paz en la vida espiritual de los jóvenes. Desarrollar una identidad en la juventud de la escuela intermedia y en el ministerio de The Edge co-

Familias “en Misión” con Cristo Venga a disfrutar juntos como familia

Ya nos hemos estado reuniendo como familia con el Padre Tim y ha habido una buena partici-pación, lo cual nos llena de gozo. Nuestra proxima reunión sera el Miércoles 5 de Octu-bre terminando la Misa de las 7 PM en el gimnasio. Centavos Caídos del Cielo El domingo de “Centavos caídos del Cielo” es este domingo 2 de Octubre. Esta donación ayuda a los grupos de Porvi-da del Condado de Orange incluyendo Birth Choice y Toby’s House. Este año se estarán usando “biberones” para que sea colocada la donación para este proyecto de vida. Les pedimos que regresen el domingo después de la Misa del 2 de Octubre los biberones con su donación dentro. Si usted no puede regresar el biberón tiempo, lo puede hacer llegar a la Oficina del centro Pastoral o a la Sacristía. QUINCEAÑERAS EN LA MISION BASILICA Muchos de nuestras jovencitas han expresado su deseo de celebrar sus quince años. Esta celebración es una tradición que está enraizada en la historia religiosa y cultural de nuestros países. Para una joven, la celebra-ción de sus quince años puede convertirse en algo perdurable, en una experiencia que deje huella. Durante las sesiones de preparación, se les motivará a poner su celebración y su vida en las manos de Dios para que sea ocasión para acercar a la familia y renovar el sentido cristiano. Lo que pretendemos, es preparar de tal manera a la joven para que encuentre en ésta comunidad un motivo de cercanía a la vida parroquial. Les pe-dimos que se inscriban por lo menos 6 meses antes de la celebración. Los requisitos son los siguientes: Ser miembro de la parroquia. haber recibido los sacramentos de bautismo y comunión. Si no ha recibido el Sacramento de Confirma-

ción, les sugerimos que la inscriba al programa a partir de junio de este año. Las inscripciones se cierran a principios de agosto.

Tenemos cuatro misas de quinceañeras en el año y solamente son en grupo. Les recomendamos que prime-ramente hable a pedir información de las fechas de las misas y si le interesa tener la celebración en nuestra parroquia entonces aparte el lugar de la fiesta donde ustedes elijan.
