Greater Boston Stage Company is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment for all. We are excited to announce that we are producing our second sensory-friendly performance!
This sensory-friendly production of Miracle on 34th Street will be a performance dedicated to creating a more welcoming space for individuals with sensory-input disorders including autism spectrum disorder. There will be modifications throughout the theatre space that create a friendly and supportive environment, encouraging patrons to experience the magic of theatre in their own way. Families, friends and caregivers of individuals with sensory input disorders are also encouraged to attend.
Accommodations for our sensory-friendly performance includes:
• Lower overall sound level
• House lights remain on at a low level during the performance
• Patrons may talk and leave their seats during the performance
• There will be a designated Quiet Area for breaks
• Patrons are encouraged to bring and use their own sensory tools
PRE-SHOW RESOURCES:
• “Know Before You Go” video, introducing you to the physical space and what to expect
• Social Narrative describing the social setting and physical space
• Meet and Greet at 1:15 pm on the day of the show where you’ll meet staff, cast members, and adjust to the space
Q. Can anyone attend this performance?A. Yes, all individuals are welcome. As noted above, there will be several alterations to the theatre going experience for those with sensory-input disorders
Q. Will there be changes made to the script?A. No, the script will not be altered.
Q. Is this venue wheelchair accessible?A. Yes.
Q. What is your refund policy?A. For this performance only, refunds are offered up until the show begins.
Q: How long is the show?A: Miracle on 34th Street runs approximately 90 minutes with a brief intermission.
