Klark Teknik DM8000

The Klark Teknik DM8000 can be controlled by Mira Connect™, Aveo Systems’ smart control appliance. Mira Connect uses the instance tag’s defined in the Klark Teknik design file to control mute and level control blocks.

To integrate a Klark Teknik DM8000 system with Mira Connect, first create or upload a design file to the device using the Klark Teknik DM8000 DSP Designer software. Next, add the Klark Teknik DM8000 to the room in Mira Portal (https://mira.aveosystems.com) and enter the IP address of the Global Cache IP2SL IP to serial accessory and press ‘add equipment’. If you don’t have a unit, you can choose to simulate the Klark Teknik DM8000. Mira Connect will connect to the device and show the status of the connection and control points.

To edit the equipment and select instance tags, select Edit from the device’s menu, select Audio Controls and select the discovered mute and level blocks instance tag’s and then press ‘update equipment’. Mira Portal will show the equipment status as a green circle if all instance tags are valid.

Important information about the integration is summarized below.

Connection InterfaceThe Klark Teknik DM8000 is controlled via an RS-232 connection and requires an GlobalCache IP2SL (IP to serial) interface.

Enter the IP address of the GlobalCache IP2SL interface as the IP address of the Klark Teknik DM8000 in Mira Portal. Port 4999 will be used for control. The GlobalCache IP2SL (part number 151.0010.001) is available as an accessory from Aveo Systems.

Ensure the baud rate on the Klark Teknik DM8000 matches the baud rate configured on the IP2SL device.

Microphone Mute ControlMira Connect uses a mute or level block for microphone mute control. If the mute block includes more than one channel, enter the index for the desired channel.

Room Volume ControlMira Connect uses a level block for room volume. Mira Connect uses 50dB of gain range (-38dB to +12dB) for volume control. Setting Mira Connect’s volume to the minimum value will mute the level control.

Audio Dialing ControlThe Klark Teknik DM8000 does not include any telephony resources.

Enter the instance tag for level or mute blocks into Mira Portal for Microphone Mute, Volume control, and advanced features including Sound Reinforcement, source switching, overflow rooms, and more. If a block has more than one channel, use the channel index to select the proper channel from the block.

Mira Connect Integration with the Klark Teknik DM8000

Controlling the Klark Teknik DM8000 requires a Global Cache IP2SL interface (available separately from Aveo Systems) and a straight-through RS-232 cable that you provide as shown in the figure.
