Dr. F. S. Umrigar, Principal & Member Secretary welcomed all members of Board on behalf ofBVM and CVM family.

Opening Remarks by the Hon. Chairman :

1. Faculty members with Ph.D. degree should initiate post d.octoral research work.

Z. All the faculty members deptned for training should submit the brief report of the training and

arrange the presentation among the staff members and convey the benefits of the training,

particularly how students are benefited.

3. The permanent faculties should proceed f.rr registeriig their Ph.D. under IIT's and State

Universities (Full Time / Part Time).

4. The results of Computer Engineering shoulrl be increesed by 100 %. The department Head

should try to get the Projects / Consultancy rvork.

5. All the departments should try to get the Testing and Consultancy woik.

6. The earnings from Testing and Consultancy done by the college should be deposited in BVMEndowment Fund.

14.2.0 To report : The Board of the Governors (BoG) of Birla Vishvakarma

. Mahavidyalaya has been re-constituted as per the Guid:lines of the AICTE for the next term

commenced from lst luly,2014 to 30th June,20l7.

As per the guidelines laid down by the AICTE the Chairman of the Board

of Governors be nominated by the Registered Society/Trust. Therefore,

Dr. C. L. Patel, Chairman of the Charutar Vidya Mandal was nominated

as the Chairman of the Board of Govemors.

The Hon. Chairman then welcomed all the members of the newly

constituted Board and hoped that the deliberations would be useful inmaintaining and improving the education standalds of the college.

14.2.1 To confirm the minutes of the 2014.1meeting of the $oard of Govemors held on

10.06.14.The minutes were confirmed.

1. The M.E. Environment A/c. No. 10800 at KDCC, Vallabh Vidyanagar is closed videletter date 10.06.14 and the Bank Balance amount of Rs. 7,21,398.64 was transferredin BVM Endowment Fund A/c.

2. The income of Rs. 15150,416.00 towards the Testing and Consultancy done by thecollege during F.Y. 2013-14 was transferred to BVM Endowment Fund A/c.

3. Appointment of Dr. D. G. Thakore, Professor as Head of Computer EngineeringDepartment w.e.f. 11.06.14. The Charge of Computer Dept. was Handed and takenover by the respective Head of depts. on 11.08.14.

4. Implementation of revised Medical Allowance of Rs. 300/- p.m. w.e.f. July, 14 as perGovemment GR.

5. Adhoc Appointment of Shri Bhupendra Kumar M. Lad as Training & PlacementOfficer on purely Adhoc Basis on consolidated Salary of Rs. 25000/- p.m. in GIA.

3. Dr. F. S. Umrigar, Principal attended Academic Committee (Curriculun DevelopmentCell) meeting at CTE, Gandhinagar on 08.07.14.

4. Prof. Alpesh Damor, Asst. Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department submittedActivity Report of IIT, Gandhinagar during his stay of one semester.

5. Digital Learning India (Asia's Premier Magazine on ICT Education) have targeted3000+ Engineering Colleges of India for National level ranking 2014. 250 Collegesacross India was selected. In West India zone 6 colleges were selected as PromisingInstitutes, among which BVM Engineering College is First college selected as a

Promising Institute in West India Zone as per the publication in Digital Leaming -June,2014.

6. Increment of Shri Shailesh D. Bhagat, Asst. Professor in Mathematics Dept. was

stopped w.e.f. 01.07.14 failing to obtain M.Phil degree with First Class within 5 years

time limit prescribed in the office order No.F/EST/BSD/LMA/830 dated 2I.07.2009 at

condition No. 2 vide Offrce Order No.F/l 08/EST/BSD/LM N 697 dated 1 0.07. I 4.

i. UGC team visit during 1st - 3rd August, 2014 for inspection for awarding Autonomy and

approve expenditure towards it.


ii. Visit of Dr. H. V. Trivedi -NPru mentor during September 20t4.

iii. With reference to (i) GTU circulars regarding harmonized teaching scheme dated0T-07-14

and 14-08-14 (ii) telephonic talk with office bearers of CTE, SPFU and peer TEQIP

institutes, (iii) verbal consent of Hon. Chairman BoG, BVM, the harmonized syllabus and

course structure will be followed for 3'd Semester students and GTU scheme & structure

will be followed for students admiued in A.Y. 20t4-15.

iv. Campus placement of 64 students of GIA TEQIP beneficiary UG programs(as on 10-09-

iii) NCB payment terms for procurement of goods is decided as 80% after delivery and

20%o after final acceptance.

iu) Technical specification for the procurement of goods and civil works will be verifiedand finalized by the concerned Head and Departmental procurement representative.

v) The account related items of the NCB should be verified and finalized by the Accountsection of the BVM offrce.

5. All the departrnents should try to get the Testing and Consultancy work.

6. The eamings from Testing and Consultancy done by the college should be deposited in BVMEndowment Fund.

has been re-constituted as per the Guidelines of the AICTE for the next term commencedfrom lst July,2014 to 30th Jrme,20l7.

As per the guidelines laid down by the AICTE the Chlirman of the Boardof Gcvernors be nominated by the Registered Society/Trust. Therefore,Dr. C. L. Patel, Chairnan of the Charutar Vidya Mandal was nominatedasthe Chainnan of the Board ofGovernors.
