• Proposals of this nature could fill Delta with owners, not renters.
• This model is similar to laneway houses, but without the lane. Kelowna has a model called a "grow home" that is similar, but does not have the same "home behind a home" concept.
• School-age children in Delta have decreased since the 1970s. A model of this nature would allow younger

and design quality would be important. The fences would be crucial to maintain privacy.
• While it would increase the amount of residents in a neighborhood, it would be similar to a home with a rental suite in terms of number of families and vehicles.
• If a case study is built then the model could become attractive to developers.

to questions and comments from the Committee Ms . . noted:
Attachment B of the provided report addresses Delta specifically, giving an overview of Delta's rental housing.
• The purpose of the analysis is to assess whether there is a risk that the rental housing will be lost. This is a concern across Metro Vancouver.
• There are currently bylaws that require rental buildings be maintained to certain standards.
• There is currently no formal initiative to increase rental housing in Delta.
