MINSTREL 366 DECEMBER 2012 The 18xx games are on page 2 onwards in order of starting. Then it is RR2188C on p16, Outpost M12 on p17, St. Petersburg M3 on p18, In The Year Of The Dragon M2 on p19 and The Games That You Play on p20. New Games: The second Minstrel In The Year Of The Dragon starts this time. Gosh but it’s busy in the run up to Christmas this year! So it’s another issue pushed out the door – and only happening now because my grandson has conked out. I think the 18xx games have had all the attempted and successful challenges that are needed. No chance to think about new games right now, and I won’t make any New Year resolutions about changing Minstrel. I wish the best to all of you for the coming year. RAILWAY RIVALS RR2188C ROUND 10 STARR made a late surge to snatch victory in run 22 from GITCO. But in run 23 no surge would have overcome GITCO who had an easy victory over the joint efforts of M&P and STARR. MINSTREL 366 DECEMBER 2012

The 18xx games are on page 2 onwards in order of starting.

RAILWAY RIVALS RR2188C ROUND 10

STARR made a late surge to snatch victory in run 22 from GITCO. But in run 23 no surge would have overcome GITCO who had an easy victory over the joint efforts of M&P and STARR. Run 25 was a straight grunting win from the front by STARR with GITCO just edging out GRID for second place. M&P strolled to win run 26 as was expected and then STARR & GRID took runs 27 & 28, respectively, with insouciance that belied their slight route length advantages.

So, overall STARR gets that bit further ahead of GRID with M&P still in with a chance of making up a place.

1870D32 / 14 OR12 Lyndon carries on flashing his cash to push through the trains so just after John gets full complement of trains David & Don are left with train-less companies. They both have enough cash to help fund replacement trains so no bankruptcies loom.

RAILWAY RIVALS RR2188C ROUND 10

STARR made a late surge to snatch victory in run 22 from GITCO. But in run 23 no surge would have overcome GITCO who had an easy victory over the joint efforts of M&P and STARR. Late surging was back for run 24 as GRID gained equal first with M&P who had been in front throughout the race.

In order to avoid early unpleasantness we will do the initial pick of Persons by email. So I will ask Brad to pick followed by John, Pete & Mike whose brain strain will be reduced by knowing what pairs have already been taken. And just before we start, here is a reminder of the Person Types and of the Person Cards that you hold – a tick [] means that you still have the card for that person type and can choose them at the appropriate times.
