MAUER AND THE RAYS: Joe Mauer has reached safely via hit or walk in 17 straight against the Rays...he is a career .362 (79-for-218) hitter against Tampa Bay with 13 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 38 walks, 32 runs scored and 32 strikeouts in 59 games...his .362 average and .456 on-base percentage both rank as the highest against the Rays all-time.

MAUER DOUBLE TAKE: Joe Mauer currently has 349 career doubles, just one away from being the 19th active player to reach the 350-doubles plateau, the last being Dustin Pedroia, who reached that mark last week...the only other Twin to hit as many as 350 doubles in their career was Kirby Puckett, who hit 414 from 1984-95...Mauer has six doubles on the season and hasn’t hit one in his last 29 games, since May 1 (he has 5 home runs since that date)...his previous long for a doubles-drought was 27 games July 26-August 28, 2008.

THIEVERY: The Twins set a season-high with three stolen bases yesterday (Nunez - 2, Buxton), giving them 36 stolen bases in 47 attempts for a 76.6 stolen base percentage, the sixth highest percentage in baseball...the 36 steals are tied for eighth most in baseball.

AEduardo Nunez has stole 11 bases on the season (14 attempts), tied for fifth best in the AL and tied for ninth best in baseball.
