The City of Minneapolis is adding a key staff member to the Surface Water & Sewers Division. Surface Water &

Sewers is a division within the Public Works Department tasked with executing the City’s vision for sanitary and

storm sewers. This position will report directly to the Division Director and will supervise others.

Now is an exciting time to be a part of positive change in Minneapolis, and to be in the Department of Public

Position Announcement

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.

• Two years as a professional engineer, which in-cludes supervisory experience.

An equivalency of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college plus six years of experi-ence in civil engineering with at least two as a pro-fessional engineer may be considered. Licenses/Certifications:

• Registration as a Professional Engineer is re-quired.

• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of MN may be obtained within six months of hire.

• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $91,198 to $116,303. The City of Minneapolis offers a generous benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, life insurance, deferred compensation, re-tirement, vacation, and sick leave.

The City of Minneapolis is seeking a Principal Professional Engineer to manage, direct and supervise technical and regulatory work within the Surface Water and Sewers division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for planning, budgeting, and delivery of projects related to stormwater infrastructure and surface water manage-ment. The position works closely with other divisions and departments as well as outside entities to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local requirements. The position works directly with elected officials, other agencies and the community.
