There are many “useful ministries” available to our parishioners, just call the office @ 761-5456 to explore all opportunities for any of our ministries, such as:

Want better way to know, love and serve God? Eucharistic Adoration is the adoration of Jesus Christ Himself, present in the

Holy Eucharist. During Adoration, the Eucharist is exposed in a beautiful golden vessel called a monstrance. From the altar, our Lord gazes at us in the Eucharist wanting us to give Him our hearts, burdens, sufferings, joys and sorrows so that He may transform and sanctify us. MORE USEFUL MINISTRIES: “CIRCLE YOUR CALENDAR – THIRD SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH FROM 9:00 AM TO 11:00 AM – RECYCLING DAY. Please bring your newspapers & aluminum cans to be recycled. Where – behind the Rectory, just off the alley. If we had more truck space, we would collect cardboard also (Hint!). If the weather on the third Saturday of the month is below 32 degrees and/or snowing, there will be no recycling. I am always in need of additional folks with pick ups or an able body individual who is willing to give 3 hours once a month toward this endeavor to be good stewards of God’s environment. Blessings all – PJ Sheldon.

There are new yarn choices available at the parish office for knitting or crocheting of PRAYER SHAWLS. Stop into the office Tuesday thru Friday anytime between 10am and 2pm to pick up your project. Do you hear the call? More Angels ( male, female no age limits) needed to keep our cathedral beautiful. Cleaning is every Friday after the

12:30 Mass. The rotation is usually only once a month, taking about one hour for each team . We also need a few more cleaners for back-up. Please call Bobbe Ann Theony at 452-6130 to volunteer with cleaning.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

There will be no CCD or Youth Ministry classes on Wednesday, December 28. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. Call Georgia Miller (781-1830) with Youth Ministry questions or Mark

Doerr (231-0627) with CCD questions. Congratulations to St. Ann’s Youth Ministry Bible Memorization Contest November Monthly drawing winners: Lillian McGinn, Tessa Allen, Gina Heavygun, Ethan Germann, Nick Karls, Matt Henderson, Blair Hebnes, Joe Lencioni, Alane Nedrow and Carlyn Mahoney. St. Ann’s Kitchen Youth Ministry Christmas Project On Friday, December 16th, around 230 gifts were distributed to guests at St. Ann’s Kitchen. Thank you to all the members of St. Ann’s for such generous donations. This year we gave out the most gifts ever and the quality of the gifts was also up. Still we ran out of gifts and some went away without one. Thank you to the Youth group and 5th graders for wrapping the gifts. Each gift had a tag on it that read: “To: A precious & loved child of God. From: Jesus, your Savior & lovers of Jesus at St. Ann’s”. These gifts were truly from Jesus as we, His church are His hands, heart and voice. Thank you St. Ann’s community for you being Jesus this Christmas Season to the poor. “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do to me.” Know that the gifts you gave were a birthday gift for Jesus. It was very touching when handing out the gifts to see the tears in the eyes of so many who did not expect to get a gift for themselves and were so grateful to be able to have gifts to give their children and grandchildren. One little girl opened her gift and had to come show us and thank us for her new Barbie doll. Please contact the Rectory Office at 761-5456 to register as members of St. Ann’s Cathedral or regarding arrangements for upcoming Weddings, Baptisms!
