Why we communicate with you?.

The Ministry is pleased to communicate with

you in order to achieve joint cooperation to

promote the bounty of security and safety in

our country – Qatar.

Like that, the Interior Ministry is keen to

communicate with all members of society

from citizens, residents, institutions,

companies and individuals for achieving the

same goal.

Why ?.

We believe that the social security could not be achieved with out cooperation between police and the public in all fields.

How ?.

The Police is in need of cooperation from the public to assist them in achieving security and stability and prevent the crime and fight against it.

While the public is indeed in need of

cooperation from the police in order to

protect them from risks and dangers and

offer them stability and peace of mind as

well.

What is the outcome of this cooperation?.

The Police and The public = A joint interest based in joint cooperation for accomplishing common interest.

In brief :

The public can play a vital and a great role in crimes prevention and its control.

How will be this cooperation? 1- Assisting the police and supporting them

in performing their duties and responsibilities.

The role of the police towards to the public

1- Listening to the complaints from the public and welcoming their suggestions.

2- To treat with public with respect and love regardless of laws, procedures and nature of the work during investigation or attempts to reach to the reality of the case.

What are the expected results of maintaining positive relation between public and police?

Whenever a good and excellent relationship

exists between public and security agencies,

we can achieve the following results:-

Abiding to the laws and regulations related to

the expatriates like traffic law, expatriates

residence law and all other valid laws

implemented in the country and not violating

it.

Prevention of crimes and curving its

occurrence through ensuring safety measures by

everybody at his residence, company and

establishment and not exposing himself for crime

and danger and not falling victim for criminals.

Assisting to apprehend the suspects and bringing

them in front of the justice through reporting the

crime witnessed by the citizen / resident / visitor if

they posses information about it because this

cooperation will inevitably lead to the rapid

arrest of the suspect and bringing him in front of

the justice.

Advices and guidance :-

Qatar is an Islamic conservative country and it deals with others with respect and honor.

It posses its own customs and traditions and the people of Qatar are committed to follow it and they love every body who respects those customs and follow it.

So, they expect from anyone who wants to stay with them in their country that they will take care of those customs and follow it. Some of those customs and traditions are here just for your information :-

Wearing a descent and a covering dress by both men and women and not wearing improper and dresses contrary to the taste of the people. The bachelors must not rush with families in commercial complexes and markets.

The Qatari community gives respect for women, therefore we also expect that the residents will do so with them.

At all time, please give priority for elderly people and patients and also treat their requests with all respect and honor.

The Qatari laws and regulations prohibit begging in markets, commercial complexes and residential neighborhoods.

If any body is in need of money, he may approach the charity organizations working in the country as they support the needy and the poor and help them.

The laws and regulations functioning in the

country also prohibit fishing or riding bicycles

in areas designated for families such as Corniche,

or near by the sensitive areas and economic

establishments.

The state's laws, rules, and regulations prohibit the production or promotion of alcohol or drug abuse, especially in residential neighborhoods or public areas.

Taking pictures in public places is acceptable, But, please avoid taking pictures of women or men when ever you take a photo.

Please take permission from present persons in the location or passersby if you take the photo of the location.

As you know, the Qatari law prohibits filming the government buildings and locations, military, diplomatic and sensitive organizations and those premises with notice prohibiting photography.

Everybody knows that the large gatherings in

the markets, or in the cities, or in front of

shops or looking sharply / staring to the

shopping women is a matter of harassment for

everybody. Therefore, take care of this and

choose proper time for shopping.

Urinating or spitting on the streets or sleeping

in the streets or gathering in front of the

houses of others is contrary to the customs

and traditions and is an unpleasant behavior.

Be sure to acquire the fire extinguisher and learn to use it properly in your house.

When you cross the road, you should abide by the specified places for crossing in order to avoid hitting and traffic accidents.

Dear resident,

In order to help us to protect yourself and not fall into the violations, we have pleasure to urge you to adhere to the following rules :-

1- Compliance with traffic laws, rules and

regulations is a real protection for yourself and

your family.

2- Working with other sponsor is a clear and plain violation of the expatriates' residence law.

Who enters to the country on visit visa or family visa is not eligible for paid or unpaid

work .

3- When you abscond from your sponsor, you are

violating the law and it will drag penalties and

fines on you.

Using private cars for transporting others (Illegal taxies) against fee is violation of the traffic law No. (19) for the year 2007.

4- Who enters to the country on visit visa or

family visa is not eligible to perform paid or

unpaid jobs.

Making the safety equipments available at your house, work place or accommodation guaranties a safe and descent life for you. 5- Using private cars for transporting others

(Illegal taxies) with the aim of earning money

is violation of the traffic law No. (19) for the

year 2007.

criminal gangs, and be careful to deal with

reliable information so as to not fall as

victim of swindlers and thieves .
